In addition to the home inspection I had also paid him to do termite inspection. I did not see him do any checks for termites. To my surprise, at the end of the inspection when I asked him if he did any termite checks, he said there is no termite damage. When we moved in a couple of weeks later, our heat pump was not working at all. My family and I had to spend the first week in our house shivering in the cold. When I called him and asked him to check what was wrong, he came by and said my heat pump was working when he inspected but is not working now and I should show it to an HVAC specialist. The HVAC guy said that my heat pump had a perforated coil and had to be replaced. I wonder how the coil situated in my attic got perforated in a couple of weeks after the inspection. It was my first home purchase and I did not know what to expect from a home inspection. But I seriously doubt the level of service provided by Mr. Yonts qualifies as decent service.

Not too bad. Woody showed up on time and produced a printed report on-site. He was rather slow to complete the work 4 hours instead of the quoted 2.5 and I don't think he actually walked on the roof like he said he would. His inspection was complete for all major things that could go wrong, but his report failed to mention some of the things he found like moisture in the electrical panel. He suggested that I be present during the inspection and that was a good idea so he could point out everything he found and I could gage the severity of it myself. He found several things I would not have, but he failed to note several things I found myself.
