It has gone very well. He is very knowledgeable and a great guy in general. I never felt like anything negative was going on. Everything was given to me straight foward. He was always willing to explain everything to me! He was very easy to work with! I have enjoyed working with him! I would highly recommend his services!

Jimmie Smith provided an estimate for this and other services. Where the other services (roofing) seemed to be performed adequately for a reasonable price, the windows were a disaster. His sub-contractor was a kid who needed to ask another interior painter/contractor for help and BRUSHES! After a loud noise outside (sound of a ladder and paint cans falling), I checked on the sub-contractor. He was fine but asked to borrow a telephone. Jimmie was at the house 30 minutes later. In the meantime, the subcontractor was asking the interior painter/contractor how to get paint off of brick. Jimmie scraped the brick and kept telling me it looked fine in spite of the paint residue clinging to the brick on the front of my house.
Although this sub-contractor never returned, the next one sent by Jimmie Smith painted all my windows shut (home inspector couldn't open them) and mistakenly started painting a back door (but then failed to finish -- leaving a half painted backdoor). Jimmie was hard to reach on the phone and not very responsive to email. He was told that we were under a deadline to finish this work before home inspections and yet did nothing to follow up with the customer personally.
I had to scrape paint off each window, "un-stick" all the windows, further scrape the brick (futile), and finish painting the door. In sum, I put in 6 hours of my own time to finish a job that I had paid Jimmie Smith to do.
If you hire Jimmie Smith in Louisville, Ky, I suggest that you make him stick to roofing and not pay him any money until every detail of every detail is complete to your satisfaction.
