I ordered the funeral arrangement online at avasflowers.com. I scheduled them for delivery on May 9th as the funeral service was scheduled for 10:00 am the next morning. I got a call from them at 12:37 on may 10th (during the middle of the funeral service) they left a message saying they had to substitute the color. I had ordered an all white arrangement, they wanted to make it all purple. they asked me to call them back to confirm so they could make the delivery. First of all they were supposed to have been delivered they day before. And secondly, they called me 2.5 hours into the service. My phone of course was turned off, so I didn't get the message until after the service was over. I tried calling them back, and got an automated message saying they were having unusually high call volume and to please call back later! I finally got a hold of them on Monday May 12th. They then told me they had delivered a hanging basket ( which was not even close to what I had ordered) on may 10th just after the service had started. I have no way of knowing whether they actually delivered it or not, so I asked them for a refund, because if they had delivered it at 10:00 am, why were they calling me at 12:37 to say they needed to make a substitution. They refused to give me anything more then 9.99 for a refund. Although I spent 55.00. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in the way this was handled, and will never do business with them again. Another thing that bothered me was when I went online to search for local florist in Independence KY, they came up, and their website was very misleading, making it look as though they are in fact a local florist. I have since learned they are headquartered in N.J and I don't think they even have a location here.
