I'm going to try and keep this as short as possible....The reason why I needed services was because my A/C had went out. I called my Home Warranty company and they contacted Grant's Heating and Cooling. Within a couple of days they did come out and looked at my unit and told me my compressor went out. In the end, it took Grants TWO MONTHS to finally fix my unit. It took about 2 weeks for them to come out and attempt to fix it the first time. When the technician was finished, he informed me that it wouldn't work because it was the wrong part, but they should have the correct part by the end of the following week. That date rolled around....nothing. I made several phones calls to the company. Alot of times not even able to speak with the regular receptionist because she was out and so they had a temp to answer the phones so of course she coudln't answer my questions, so i'd leave a message. I'd never get a call back. I would either have to call them myself or my warranty company would have to, and they would get the same excuses as I did. After a month from initial contact, they finally came back out to put in the right compressor....so I thought. Turns out the tech was just there to get the one he had put in 2 weeks prior so he could get the right one! So then it took another month before it was finally fixed. During the second month, I of course called several times for updates and when I would actually get lucky enough to speak with the regular receptionist, she kept giving me dates of completion and making appointments with me, and they woudln't show up. During the last week before it was fixed the receptionist had hung up on me, and the owner threatened my husband on the phone. They didn't seem to care at all that I had a child and two dogs to take care of and during the last month it was in the upper 90s sometimes triple digits so of course air conditioning was very important. UPDATE: On January 14, 2013, I had called a different heating and cooling company to replace the condinsation pipe on the same A/C unit Grant's had worked on. (This repair was in no way related to the work Grant's had done) The techinition had informed me that he had suspected that my unit was only running on emergency heat rather than on the heat pump. He came back the following day when he had all of his tools and told me that the control board was burnt up because when the new compressor was put in by Grant's they left the wires loose and were touching the board which caused it to burn up. The technition had also informed me that the compressor wasn't bolted down properly to the frame, so he was kind enough to fix that for me as well. To replace the board costs me an addtional $150. After my last experience with Grant's I didn't even bother contacting them about correcting their mistake.
Description of Work: It was determined the compressor had went out in my AC unit of my home. It took them two months before it was finally fixed. So far I haven't had anymore issues with the unit.
