Salesman came out promptly - after multiple bid reviews I went forward with WW of Cincy. The gutters were to be installed within one to two weeks. Weeks pass with no communication - I advised due to my home owners requiring the gutters be replaced ASAP these need installed or my money back. The only reason I chose them for gutters were due to them being able to start within 30 days. I was given every excuse all the way down to Mastic (Aluminum product company) being out of product. I as pressed a month later the salesman advised he miss-measured the gutters/fascia/rake and would need to up the price from $2700 (higher of all estimates) an additional $1500? The funny part was nobody ever came back out to re-measure to know if the first ones were wrong. I called him out on it and he offered my money back. To get the money back for the gutters took months and several phone calls in which I was trying to keep the relationship alive as I unfortunately I still had windows and doors coming from them.
Salesman and install manager came out 5 times to re-measure doors and windows (per the salesman- I was not there can’t verify).
Both doors and windows came much delayed with very poor communication - which ended up being in the cold of winter instead of fall.
Regardless, windows were installed except for one which they said was on backorder (after this long delay? didn't make sense but did later).. Wife and installer called me to talk about one of the three sliders being installed. The slider was to replace the previous door - both 9 feet. Door was 75% installed as of the call - he said the install manager talked to the owners and to move forward with installing a smaller door. This was untrue as we have never spoken to anyone but the salesman - I never received the $700 difference nor would this have been acceptable as it was main conversation point during initial meeting. I specially told him I didn't want to remove the wood slider unless a 2 lite 9 foot door can go in. The prefabricated form showed 9 foot 2 lite slider - large upcharge to move up. Install manager later said he never made these statements and wanted to make it right - asked if I would take a 3 lite door - without even offering the price difference back? I said absolutely not - we agreed on a 9 foot door which the install was beyond horrible. The exterior was left bare for weeks.
Issues:
window installed out of square (they came back fixed a few of them - never came back after)
only caulked 50% of the windows and doors - 4 of the 7 windows had no caulk on top
trim was to be brick molding paid additional $633 - ended up with rolled aluminum and a lot of it..
no doors can lock - manager said there is a "trick to them" -?? still have not figured out the "trick"..
screen sliders don't lock as one striker missed the factory pilot hole and the other two they forgot to install..
screens came in metal and dented with long wires hanging from each window (only some were cut/trimmed when manager came out)
one large expensive tinted window looked to be dragged through there factory (manager was nice enough to hand rub a strong acetone on it against my wished which immediately took of the finish and the turned the windows color)
one window in the basement was miss-measured about 3 inches left to right - they packed the window full of aluminum strips and caulk instead of making it right and ordering a new window..
The manager tried to avoid coming out during the install - the first time he blew me off the secretary called to say ALL the vehicles in WW's fleet was being serviced for oil changes.. that must have just popped up. The second time he just got caught up with other stuff. The third one I called to verify after taking off work again and the secretary wouldn't transfer me - she said he has to come out Monday with an installer to put in broken window. He never called me once to tell me. The only call I got from him was him begging me to pay him and his guys and he put it "I gotta pay the guys so they can eat".. I told him not to put it on me - this is his issue. That Monday they came out - fixed a few things - told my wife to keep the 8 foot slider as resolution for free. They also told her that expose exterior didn't need covered. Upon her pushing them they reluctantly bent the metal and didn’t fasten it. A contractor working on the kitchen called me to tell me he picked up the molding blowing across my yard!
Their fix was to tell me the salesman was fired for making to many mistakes - but this never fixed my problems. They could have at least sent me some tubes of color matching caulk.
I will be filing a BB complaint on this.
Needed to reschedule that reinstall 3 times as they had schedule conflicts and while that is not a huge issue it is after waiting most of the day and then hearing about the need to reschedule. Eventually they arrived as promised and all is well.
In the spring we noticed ants coming into our through our windows. We inspected and found the installers did not caulk the back windows and left a space. We called the company several times and were told it would be fixed and nothing has been done.
Most people now a days do not write checks, I didn't correctly spell out the correct amount. Instead of having the salesman come back to the house to have this corrected, they contacted us at work to have us send in another check.. I checked with Fifth Third bank and was told that well, blah, blah blah, in the end they held onto this check for over 2 weeks and didn't order our windows until they had 'the check', which caused the estimated time to have them installed at least 2 weeks later. They gave us a 6 week window to start with. When it was drawing close to the time they should have been receiving the windows, we were told they didn't set up installation until the windows had been inspected. We are now going into October, I sent them an email on the availability of us being able to take vacation days off of work for them to do the installation. But they would could not accommodate any of the 3 weeks. In the end, they started on Oct 31 way over the 6 weeks, and installed the windows and started on the siding on Nov 1, they finished up on Monday, Nov 4. it shouldn't have taken so long if they had worked on it for more than 3-4 hours at a time. I hate to think how long it might have taken to do the whole house siding, this was a small area.
(beware of Michelle, the manager of the office, if one of the rating questions was on 'office personnel' this would have gotten an 'F'
Windows were manufactured in the expected time frame.
Patio doors were custom dimensions, and fit perfectly!
Installers were on time, worked efficiently,.
Reviewed the old windows that were to be removed.
Staged the equipment needed.
Removed old windows carefully. Helped me to save one to donate to Habitat.
Worked steadily but not rushed, to do a very good job of removing the old and installing the new, and doing the trim work.
I was impressed with the care he took to do it right.
The assistant moved quickly to clean up as they went along, and did an excellent job of sealing/caulking.
The place was left spotless and my need units are wonderful!
I can see the beautiful woods through my patio doors!
And the doors themselves are beautiful and simple to keep clean.
We couldn't be more pleased.
