Mortgage Companies
What we found out later was that this mortgage company ruined our credit for 6 months because they "hit" our credit report -checking it many times for the same loan attempt. Since the credit reporting agencies will reject a credit request in excess for a person, we were effectively cut off from not only checking out mortgage prices with any other company but for ANY credit request we made for that timeframe. Feels like a shady business practice to me.
