They charge 30-50% more for installation, new liners, And chemicals . After 10 years my liner needed replacement and when removed there was rust all over the shell which the owner promptly placed blame on me ! Not sure how a galvanized she’ll liner rust out but apparently it was my fault! Please shop around and get real service and communication

This is by far the best job I’ve ever had. Bob Shehan is a wonderful designer and pool builder. My job has been nothing but smooth and easy going from the beginning.

we paid over 60k for a pool. First year it leaked and has leaked every year since. We have called and emailed too many times to count. The tiles popped off the first year and after 2 different times to replace them I found all the old ones in the pool cover well. They found one cracked pipe joint 5 feet under ground just canr seem to find the other leaks. Bob Sheehan will never return calls or emails. A horrible experience

They had built my pool for me in 1997. They did services on the pool for a while, but then his son took over the company, and things were never really the same after that.

Sheehan installed the pool for the previous owners of my house.  When we moved in, there was a tear in the pool liner, in the patterned (tile-look) area.  Although the previous owners had told us working with Sheehan was a nightmare, I still called them, because I figured that having installed it, their records would show the liner used and they'd be able to repair with a matched patch.  I spoke to them on the phone and they said that was true -- they pulled the records and said they'd use a patch that matches that part of the pattern, so the patch wouldn't be noticeable.  The repair guy came much earlier than scheduled, so I wasn't home but our babysitter was.   She was aware of the issue though, and showed him where the repair was needed.  He then patched it with a solid colored patch (in the midst of a tile pattern), that wasn't even the right color.  He didn't even put it on level.  It looks like someone leaned over the side of the pool and slapped a big piece of painters tape on.  Because it's a big uneven swatch of solid color over a small print, and the color doesn't even match, it sticks out like a sore thumb. 

I delayed filing my complaint with Angie's List so that I could first contact the Cincinnati BBB. The BBB accepted my complaint and contacted Shehan Pools who agreed to stop trying to collect for work not performed. Shehan Pools insists on a signed contract and a deposit of almost 50% before doing work. It should be noted that since the law was changed to allow businesses to add a surcharge for credit card purchases, Shehan was the first company I have dealt with who actually demanded one. They wanted 10% extra to charge the work on my credit card so I paid by check. Second, anyone dealing with them should not sign their 3-page contract until after taking it home and carefully reading it. They have included statements in small print to absolve themselves from specific problems occurring during the work. The contract is too long to be read carefully in their store. Third, it is strongly suggested that anyone doing business with them insist on getting a copy of their Liability Insurance policy for your own protection. Fourth, and probably most important, The original pool was installed by Shehan Pools by the previous homeowner almost 25 years ago who also used Shehan Pools to replace the liner 13 years ago. Because of this I had the wrong impression that the only company that could supply the right liner was Shehan Pools. Had I known otherwise I would have gone somewhere else to look for a replacement.
The quality of the replacement liner is very good but the quality of the installation work is questionable. After returning in September to fix a faulty problem that required them to drain half the water (at their expense), I discovered the original installer had torn the back of the anchor channel in the liner steps and did not use the new type of anchors for the retaining rods. I won't know if this tear caused any leaks until I open the pool in June.
After two written complaints to Shehan plus several emails - Shehan never once acknowledged my complaints until the BBB got involved.
