We started getting bids in late february from 5 highly rated companies on Angies list.  M& D was the last company we got a bid from on March 4th.  Tony came to the house in the morning on March 4th and we went over all of the details of what insulation projects we wanted done.  We discussed several options about fiberglass and collulose blow in as well as some foam for additional areas to be done later.  Tony had the bid ready and broke down by late afternoon.  One of the jobs was to blow in insulation through some outside roof  vents as well as blow in insulation in the main house attic to R60.. 
After getting Tony's bid we then went through each company looking at the recommendations as well as the pricing, the Angies list reviews and the BBB.  After reviewing all of the bids we decided to go with M & D.  We set the date with Tony for March 31 for the job.
The two crew members showed up on time Monday morning and got right to work.  After deciding on where to set up they went into the attic to do all of the prep work with the baffles and the ceiling fixtures.  When that was done they ran the hose up though a 2nd floor window causing very little disturbance to the house.  They proceeded to blow in enough fiberglass insulation to get the attic up to R60.  After lunch they cut out the roof vent on the patio room and filled the attic space up again with fiberlass blown in insulation.  When finished they cleaned up their materials and left.  The two crew members were very polite and did the job that was expected of an A rated company.  The cost of the job was fair and the additional blow in from R49 to R60 was a good value.  Hopefully we see the results soon because we had very limited insulation coverage in our attic space. 
M & D did a good job for us and we would recommend them to others looking to add insulation.  They will be doing some additional work for us in the future. 

I called M&D based on reviews from Angie's List.  A very nice lady took my call and within 24 hours I was contacted by Tony, their sales rep.  He scheduled an appointment within a few days and emailed an estimate to me later that evening.  Tony's estimate included a 5% Angie's List discount.  I called Tony the next day to schedule the work---he did not require a signed contract or any type of deposit and the job was scheduled for the following week.  Tony also told me that after the work was completed, they would mail a bill that I could pay by credit card if I wanted.  (I normally would have paid by check, but given this option, I used my "cash back" credit card, saving more money!)

The 2 men who did the work were very friendly and efficient---it took them about 4 hours total.  During that time, they encouraged me to watch their progress and were more than happy to answer any questions.  There was no mess whatsoever---their truck remained out on the street and the insulation was blown through a hose that they brought in through a second-story window. 

Overall, I would highly recommend this company.  They were very responsive and easy to deal with---a great overall experience!

M&D showed up on time and immediately began working. Completed work in about 1.5 hours. Cleaned up after themselves, and departed the premises. The only way to tell they were there is by the depth of the new insulation in the attic spaces; just what I like. Knowledgeable about their trade, not just installers (which is refreshing).

We contacted M&D based on excellent reviews at Angie's list.  They answered the phone on our first call and Tony came the next day to provide a free estimate.  We obtained two estimates for the work.  The other estimate was also from a highly rated company on Angie's list.  M&D's estimate was 1/3 of the estimate from the other company for the same work in the attic.  The two companies offered very different approaches to insulating the crawl space (under floors with keeping crawl vented vs Tony's recommendation of insulating walls and closing vents, i.e. a conditioned crawl space).  I was surprised that two reputable companies could have such a difference of opinion on the best way to insulate a crawl space. After researching extensively online and discussing with the home inspector we had used, we decided that M&D's approach to the crawlspace was the more state-of-the-art approach.  During this decision making process, Tony was very patient with my answering many questions over the phone and adjusting the estimate (they offered both fiberglass and cellulose blown in insulation and we discussed both options).  We scheduled the work.  Two separate M&D crews (one for the blown-in attic insulation and one for the crawl space) arrived on time.  The workmen were responsive to any questions or concerns I had.  I called Tony a couple of times to confirm some things that day and he answered his phone or called back immediately and was again patient with my questions.  They took their time with the work and made sure it was done right. Several rooms in our house are maintaining a more even temperature.  There are some rooms where there are other sources of heat loss and we don't feel as big a difference.  I suspect our heating and AC bills will be dropping though.  It was such a pleasure to hire someone and have them come and do the work right the first time, all the while making sure I was satisfied with the result and had all my questions answered.  I highly recommend M&D for your insulation needs.

Of 3 estimates from companies all with good ratings, M&D offered the best price. The crew was efficient and hard working, explained every phase of the work, got the job done in a little less time than we expected and cleaned up impeccably. There was no evidence they'd even been there. We would recommend them without reservation.

The guys that came out to perform the work were very friendly and explained everything throughout the job.  They even took pictures and showed before/after shots that amazed me.  I was very happy with their work, even though a little more expensive that some companies.  I think the extra money is worth it and I got what ai paid for... a great job.  I cannot explain the big difference we found in the comfort in our home and our monthly bills for AC and Heat.

Saw the great reviews on here about these guys as well as 2 other companies. Had all three come out and quote the job. These guys were significantly lower in price than the other two so they got the work. They showed up early, completed the job promptly and were on their way. Highly recommend this company.

I called M & D on a Wed afternoon.  Brian promptly returned my call and made arrangements to come out the very next day to give me an estimate.  He was very courteous and professional.  He gave me a call the next morning to let me know he was on his way to my house.   I told him that I was selling my house and need to have insulation of R38 per the home inspection done in a short period of time.  He went up into my attic and took measurements.  He emailed me an estimate that very day and we made arrangements to have the insulation done the following Monday between 8 to 8:30 am.  The workers arrived at 8:15 am.  They were very professional and were finished by 11:30 am.  There was no mess or evidence that anything had been done!  I would highly recommend their services and am asking my contractor to get an estimate from M & D for my new home that is being built.  I also had another company give me an estimate and with the Angie's List discount, M & D's price was exactly the same.

I was very pleased with them. They offered a very good value. They had good service and I felt good about it. The work turned out great. I was very happy with it. The price was materially better than other service providers. So I definitely give them high ratings on price. They did exactly what I would have expected from highest quality standards. There were no concerns whatsoever. I would use their services again in the future.

They did a great job and were professional and thorough. They were also very concious of keeping the house clean during and after the services were rendered.

Had to come later in the day than originally scheduled, due to equipment problems. The crew arrived promptly and immediately began using plastic sheeting to cover all surfaces that were not to be sprayed with the foam. They were extremely courteous, professional and answered all of my questions. After spraying the foam, I was invited to inspect their work before it was covered by the batt insulation. After I expressed approval they began installing the batts and removing the plastic. The work was done in short order and with very little mess. I was very impressed and extremely satisfied.

The work done by them was great. They were quick and cleaned up well when they were done. I didn’t have any complaints about them. Their price was reasonable. The quality of their work was good. I didn’t have any complaints about their professionalism as well. I would probably use their services in the future too.

A supervisor explained to three employees what they were supposed to do. Then he left. The workers damaged my plaster wall in 3 places and didn't mention it to me. I found the damage after they left. They also did not clean up well, leaving bits of fiberglass insulation lying about, both inside and outside of the house. They left 2 long knives in the front yard along with a less dangerous tool. The wood cut out of the soffits for the vents was left lying in the grass. Some minor work on the original estimate was not done. I did get the bill adjusted for the work that was not performed and for the wall damage. Someone from the company should have called to apologize for the damage and the missing work, and to explain in detail how they were adjusting my bill, but all I got was a revised invoice through the mail.

Service was excellent beginning with the estimate visit through final installation. In February 2009, Brian performed a thorough inspection of the attic space and gave me the cost estimate. Due to financial issues I was unable to complete the work until Sept, 2009. Brian returned and offered me the exact same quote. He was knowledgeable and very professional. The installation team completed the job on Sept. 11th...took about 3 hours. All went well!

Very thorough, punctual, and courteous. They did the job quickly and efficiently. They put down a runner on the carpet so they would not drag in any dirt. They did and excellent job and were very professional. The man in charge of the job had good communication skills.

The installation team was on-time and quickly moved to work. They inspected the attic area, confirmed the work to be done and proceeded to level the cellulose insulation. They also answered my questions regarding the installation process. They then attached measuring tabs to the joists to indicate the depth of the insulation. Then, as one technician controlled the feed hose the other fed bags of insulation into the truck-mounted blower unit. The work was done in approximately two hours. The technicians swept the area, thanked me for using M & D and left. They were very efficient and professional in their efforts.

M&D did an excellent job. Tony, our sales rep., was on time for our appointment. He thoroughly inspected the attic and the garage, provided indepth information on how the jobs would be done and provided a quote for the work. The installation team of two arrived on time and were ready to work, though it was a very cold morning and the garage door had to remain open. The men were friendly, efficient and thorough. They took time to study a couple of problem areas, reached a conclusion as to the best way to proceed, advised me of what they were to do and did so. They placed foam plugs in the ceiling to seal the work. They swept the area and departed. A few days after the work was completed a couple of the foam plugs fell out. I called Tony who sent me a package of replacement plugs. Throughout the process the folks from M&D were great to work with. We will be contacting them soon to perform the attic work.

They were good! They worked very hard. He was very straight forward. He explained what he was going to do and that gave us what we thought was going to be the best coverage. They were here right when they said they would be, actually a little early.

We worked with Tony Fish. The day of the appointment he arrived on time and gave us a bid. He described what needed to be installed so the insulation would not block our soffits. He also asked about any bathroom fans or recessed light fixtures we might have. The day of the installation the crew was prompt, efficient and left the area clean. We had two other estimates. One was higher and one was lower. The higher estimate was for blown in cellulose. The estimate did not mention our soffits. The company who gave us the lower estimate also did not mention our soffits nor did they mention hanging up cardboard indicators around the attic area that would tell them how much insulation was being blown in the different areas of the attic.

They were timely, I paid exactly what the estimated.
