DAVE'S CUSTOM COATINGS

After much discussion -- mostly reviewing his portfolio and hearing what a good painter Dave is -- Dave took with him a paint stir stick (one we used to mix our paint) so he could match the color. We understood and okayed his preferred brand of paint for the job. We also okayed his estimate for the work, though we thought it was high. Dave arrived on schedule for the job and finished on time as well all the while chatting about what a fine painter he was. When my husband came home that evening to take a look at the job, he realized Dave had not used a flat paint as we had indicated (ie, by giving him our paint stir stick). He instead used a satin finish. When we spoke with Dave the next day or so, to discuss that his paint finish didn't match the rest of the walls, we asked Dave to redo the job. He agreed to redo the job only if we paid him again for nearly the same amount.

He was very thorough. He was very good, but price was a little on the high end. He did an A+ job. Any little change he did charge for. He added things to the price that he had first given me. He was worried about EPA training he had to take and was passing the charge for this onto us, it got to be a little ridiculous.

Dave Frankenberry does all of his own painting and takes great pride in his work. He is very pleasant, trustworthy and is a first class painter. Dave was at our home painting for approximately 3 weeks. During those 3 weeks I never felt like I had to supervise Dave's work and never did I have to complain about the quality of his work. Dave is" Dave's Custom Coating"...doesn't send a bunch of unskilled painters to do the job...just Dave! Dave will be back to do interior painting for us in the near future.
