Description of Work: Had two dogs groomed. One of our dogs is fifteen years old! Owner of K9 took such good and gentle care with him. Our other dog is a shelty, whom I tried to groom myself! Never again! She did a fantastic job cleaning up my mistakes!

 + -1 moreWe scheduled our first grooming and were initially very pleased with the service unit we attempted to schedule our 2nd appointment. I left 4 messages over a period of two weeks with absolutely no return phone call until I finally left a strongly worded message about her lack of customer service. She left me a message apologizing stating that her messages have been piling up. I attempted to call back again with no return call. There is absolutely no excuse for not returning a customer's call within 24 hours, if you can't do that you shouldn't be in business. The sad thing is that we were quite pleased with the quality of her work. I would avoid this business if you actually expect any level of basic professionalism.

 + -1 moreWhat a wonderful experience for my dog. We moved to the area recently and Tara had not been groomed in three months. Gina was the most caring, sweet, professional groomer I have ever met. She spent ages telling me what she was going to do and why she needed to do it. Tara is usually terrified while getting groomed but before Gina left she was giving her lots of kisses. I don't think you could ever find anyone as amazing as Gina. It was well worth the money to have my sweet girl looking amazing. She spent almost three hours with Tara and gave me lots of advice on what brush to use and how to use it. It is going to be a long process to get Tara back to where she should be but with Gina's help I know it will be possible. We have scheduled her to come back in six weeks and definitely recommend her very highly.

 + -1 moreI am truely relieved that I could finally find a groomer I can trust and that gives top quality service. Very professional but at the same time she is just as personable and kind. My oldest has had some traumatic experiences with groomers before I adopted him and has been anxiety stricken ever since but Gina has some sort of magic touch and treats them with the most care and respect. I've tried other mobile groomers before her and she is the best. Very knowledgable of her craft and was able to give me some at-home grooming tips too.

Description of Work: Gina groomed my 5 1/2 year old Goldendoodle. She first combed out a HUGE amount of dead hair; then bathed him; conditioned his coat; clipped nails; trimmed his face and private areas. This all sounds very simple and straightforward, but the fact is that Gina is the first groomer who groomed my dog correctly. Gina spent more than 2 hours with my dog. She combed him out thoroughly and, I believe, for the first time gave his nails a proper cut. When finished, Gina described in detail what she had done; what she'll need to do during the next 2 or 3 groomings to revive and normalize my dogs coat; and she gave specific examples of grooming techniques and products I can use between grooming appointments.

 + -1 moreOur veterinarian recommended a mobile groomer for our 12 yr. old beloved mixed retriever due to her age and health issues. After searching Angie's List, we found Gina. She is the absolute best groomer we have ever had! Dog grooming is her passion, not just a business. She truly loves the fur-babies that she grooms. Our beloved rescue, Scarlett, took to her immediately and really loved her. Gina spend 2 1/2 hrs patiently grooming her, allowing her to lay down and rest, drink water or just simply take a break due to her health issues. After completing the grooming, Gina spent time with us in order to educate us about some things we can do for Scarlett prior to her next grooming, which will be in about eight weeks. The cost will be @ 95.00 for each groom, which is very reasonable for everything she does and for coming to our home. After having the wonderful experience we have had with Gina, I cannot imagine letting anyone else do Scarlett's grooming!
Description of Work: Gina came to our home to groom our 12 year old mixed retriever, Scarlett, who also has arthiritis and a heart condition. We had taken her to local grooming salon since moving to Louisville three years ago, but unforturnately Scarlett's hair was full of dead hair and shampoo from other groomings. Gina shampooed her FOUR times and conditioned her TWO times in order to properly groom her. This is the absolute best groom she has had in the twelve years we have had her. Her coat is beautiful and the cut is wonderful. She has truly never looked better!

 + -1 moreGina did a fantastic job grooming our Old English Sheepdog. Bella had been shaved prior to us moving to Louisville and had a lot of dead hair, and her skin was extremely dry, Gina explained how Bella's hair grows (no one had ever done that before), and said her coat needed to lose the dead hair, and she needed a moisturizer to make her skin less dry, and help with the new hair growth. She spent 2 hours working on her, and Bella looks amazing! She is so soft and smells great! She also recommended a boarding facility and a vet, which was very helpful. It was so nice not having to put a big dog in a car, drop her off, and then go get her hours later. I just walked he out to her awesome pet grooming van, Bella hopped in, and 2 hours later there was a knock on the door, and she was all done. I would highly recommend Gina and K9 Design. She really knows what she is doing! So happy we found her. I already made another appointment in December.

She put me and my dogs at ease by coming in the house to meet them on their own turf, letting us tour her mobile work space, and asking about their personalities. She treated my dogs with love and was attentive to their needs. Gina did an excellent job with grooming each of them, and she gave me feedback afterwards about how they did with her. My dogs loved her! We will definitely be using her services again.
Description of Work: Gina groomed my 3 dogs, who were well overdue for a good grooming and needed a lot of extra attention.

 + -1 moreWe have two dogs. An older dog and a puppy. The dogs had been getting groomed on a regular basis by another groomer. However, due to our travels and a no show by our previous groomer, it had been 2 months since they looked good. Gina arrived slightly early. She spent a short time speaking with us about the dogs and what we wanted. She made suggestions which we liked. Our Goldendoodle puppy had a long uneven coat. She spent 2 hours with her. When she was finished she looked great. Gina told us that our 'doodle had severe ear infections in both ears. She recommended that we call the vet right away which we did. We brought the puppy in the same day. As it turns out, Goldendoodle's have to have the hair near their ears kept short so the ears can "breathe". This had not been done before thus, she had gotten the infection. I will not have anyone else groom our dogs now except for Gina from K9 Design. By the way, she was wonderful with our older dog who is afraid of everything. She was very patient with him and waited for him to become interested in her. She did a wonderful job with him too.
Description of Work: Shampoo, Conditioning, Deshedding, blew dry, clipped nails, cleaned ears, brushed teeth and gave our puppy a puppy cut.

 + -1 moreAll went well. She showed up on time, spent three hours straight with our dog, did great work. Gina is creative person with a good brain and good people skills. My dog loves her, my family and I love how it all turned out. Gina made some good money for her skills. Everybody's happy.
Description of Work: I am "Mr. Research" on most things, including finding a dog groomer. I looked all over the Web to find a groomer that would likely do a good job on my wheaten terrier. Wheatens are not real common here in Louisville and I wanted to use one who had experience. The folks at the pet stores either hadn't groomed more than one, or offered a doggie version of Super Cuts or Fantastic Sam's; we'll use clippers to make the body the same length, get the hair out of her eyes.... (I don't mean to offend if you go there...). I took her to her to a different groomer, also highly rated on Angieslist, who said they were experienced with wheatens, and was not happy. As a result of not having good results with the previous groomer, I was looking for someone who would be more likely to do a goodjob. Since she had been a dog grooming judge, per her online bio, I figured Gina was worth a try. Gina came out today and did a ton of work on my dog. I had delayed getting her groomed for too long while I searched for the right groomer, which led to excessive matting, nails too long, and super long hairs in her ears. Yes, I am a bad man for letting this get out of hand. Nevertheless, Gina was kind to me and my dog. She did a TON of work. The dog looks a whole lot better. She gave use some advice on various topics before leaving, including how to train our dog to get used to standing on a grooming table. She will call us back in about 4 weeks to see how our dog's coat is filling back in and make a decision about the next grooming appointment.

What I appreciated just as much as the excellent groom was that my dog was so comfortable and relaxed when I picked him up. She seems to have a real affection for dogs! Already made my next appt!

Description of Work: Groomed our dog, Bauer, an Australian Shepherd. Gina is outstanding - shampooed, trimmed (nails, hair, etc) exactly how I requested. Used a great conditioner that makes his coat shine. We go every 4 weeks.

 + -1 moreAfter she had time to really examine my pets she decided she needed a little more time with them. When I arrived to pick them up I was a little surprised that they were as comfortable as they were. I thought they would be ready to run out the door! She explained in detail what she had done and what she hoped to accomplish over the next few months. She took time to help me understand what I could do to help keep them and their coats healthy and beautiful. They looked and smelled better than any other time I have had them groomed. She even used a sunscreen and a leave in detangler. I was very impressed and I will use her again. I highly recommend her for pet grooming needs.
Description of Work: Gina groomed my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Because of the condition of their coats, the time was a little longer than expected. But it was so worth it. She did a wonderful job and was very loving to my "babies."
