I had taken in two rings to be resized, one for my daughter and a diamond ring that belonged to my mother, who recently passed away. Both rings were taken in on 7/14, and were promised to be back in one week. I received a call that the ring for my daughter was finished, but the other ring was not. The following Tuesday morning I called to see if the ring was ready, and was informed that the jeweler could not "fix" the ring, that a shank needed to be put in the ring to make it strong. I was then informed that this procedure would be an additional $200.00, bringing the price to $534.00 plus tax. I informed the representative that this would be entirely too much to pay, and that I wanted to pick up the ring. She immediately said that she would look into "options" for me, that she was off on Wednesday but would get with me on Thursday. The tone of her voice indicated to me that she really didn't care about my situation or the fact that the ring was not fixed, nor that I was not informed about the situation with the ring before its due date. This ring is appraised at $15,000.00, and I did not feel comfortable leaving it with them. So I called the jewelry store back and told them that my husband would pick up the ring that night. Later that Tuesday afternoon, the woman that originally waited on me called me, apologized for the "delay" and said that if I wasn't in a hurry and could allow them an additional two to four weeks, she would see if there would be someone else to resize the ring for me. I told her that my husband would be picking up the ring, that I would think about what I wanted to have done. I took the ring to Herzog Jewelers yesterday, located in Lakeside Park, KY. I was told that they would call me for an estimate, and later that afternoon, I was given a price of $98.00 to resize the ring and fix the prongs. They will also appraise the ring for me at a cost of $25.00 (the diamonds were purchased through Herzog Jewelers in the 1960's, so the appraisal will be done at that price due to that fact). Also, my ring will be ready for pickup on Monday. I find it amazing that there is such an incredible difference in pricing, and feel that Boyle Jewelers not only charges out the wazoo for their repair work, but also does not deliver on their promises and their deadlines. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this jeweler to anyone!!!

They do an excellent job. I had seen other appraisers, and they are way better.

I HAVE DONE JEWELRY REPAIR WORK WITH THIS FINE STORE FOR MANY YEARS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB AT WHAT I FEEL WAS A GOOD PRICE.
