After inspecting our roof he gave us my husband an invoice with all the work he would do. This consisted of at least 4 or 5 items in order to stop a bad leak. After we inquired among others who knew more about the process than we did, we were told he was overcharging us, but we'd already agreed to let him do it. He supposedly finished the work and brought the invoice to me for our records and I wrote him a check for $400. A few months later the leak was back so we called a different roofer. When my husband showed the new roofer Ronnie Cope's invoice, the new roofer took a picture of our roof and showed it to us. Cope had used what appeared to be about 4 or 5 tubes of caulk which probably cost him $10 at the Dollar Store and caulked our roof to death. There was so much caulk on it that it looked like a pond of glue. The new roofer said all the things Cope listed on the invoice was actually what needed to be fixed, but Cope just cheated us instead. He knew we couldn't get on the roof and check behind him. He probably also figured that when the roof leaked again we would call him back and he could charge us $4,000 or $5,000 to replace the whole roof. But we let the new roofer replace it for half that cost and it didn't leak again. The only reason we didn't take Cope to small claims court is because my husband didn't want to fool with the hassle of doing it. But had it been left up to me I would have sued Cope for our $400. We will never call him again nor will we give him a decent reference if anyone asks about him. Sadly though, we had done business with him several times before and he seemed fair and we had no problem with him or his work, which is why we called him again. But no more. He responds quickly and is punctual but that doesn't count when u beat and cheat the customers.
