Mid American Gunite Pools & Service Inc

Mid American installed a pool for us in 2010 and we could not be happier with the quality of work and the ongoing support. I've gotten to know Michael Geers and most of his service team and really appreciate their technical knowledge, collaborative style and most of all patience! I wish they would teach some other companies how to do Customer Service!

They were here either late April or early May.  The price was one of the reasons we didn't return to them, it was pretty expensive.  The way the pool stuff goes is they had, I want to say it was around three hundred some dollars to open the pool.  So and they tacked on like a 50 dollar fuel surcharge just to drive up from Kentucky, so that was one mark against them, and then it's kind of like there was a rate and above that the clock starts ticking and depends on how long they are out here.  So when they closed the pool in 2014 that crew we liked.  It was usually a crew of two people.  So that's why we went back to them to open the pool.  Then the pool opening, that crew wasn't quite as on the ball and we just weren't entirely happy with that service so that's why we went to the Cross County to see how they did.

I wrote a review over a year ago, after Mid-American build our gunite pool.  It's now nearly two years since they built our pool, so I thought it would be helpful to review how they have done at servicing the pool.  I believe this is an important item that lots of people wonder about. That is, will they be around to service my pool if I have issue.
Frankly, we have had VERY few issues with our pool over the last two years.  However, we recently had an issue with the remote control unit that operates the pool, spa, heater, lights, etc.  After a power outage, the remote no longer functioned.
Mid-American service techs made three trips out in a weeks time to trouble shoot and resolve the issue.  In the end, it was a bad circuit board that had to be replaced. I was braced for a big bill, but it was ALL covered under their warranty.
These guys are great.  They quickly respond to questions, offer helpful suggestions, and are GREAT at service after the sale.  If you are considering building a gunite pool in the Cincinnati area, THESE are the guys you want to use.  Believe me.  I would know. 
I built another gunite pool at this very house 5 years ago, by the "leading" pool builder in this area.  It leaked from day one. It caused a landslide in our back yard that had to be addressed, and in the end, it had to be removed.  Interestingly, you can STILL see that failed pool on that builders website. Go figure.

This company performed well and adhered to the terms of its estimate in producing a quality product at the cost estimated. The time of construction was about two weeks longer than estimated due to heavy rains during the construction period. However, they did the best that could be expected under conditions beyond their control.
Construction of a pool is a major project and resulted in substantial damage to the lawn. They did a good job of restoring the area so that a landscaper could easily resod it. ( I had understood that landscaping would be my responsibility)
I was pleased enough with the performance of this company that I have continued to use them for pool maintenance and pool opening and closing during the past two swimming seasons. They have handled these responsibilities well.
In summary, this is a reputable company and I would recommend them to anyone considering constructing a concrete inground swimming pool.

These guys are professionals.  Many of their employees have been with them,doing this type of work for 25 years.  They know what they're doing, do high quality work, and make helpful suggestions throughout the process, based on their experience.
