When Perry came to look over the job and give us an estimate, he appeared confident and capable. Perry himself, did all the behind the walls type of work such as plumbing, moving electrical lines and fixtures, installing a steam generator, etc. There were a few bumps in the road during this portion of the remodel but nothing serious. Very poor communications one when or IF we could expect him to show up to work. During communications before the job started, he did mention that he didn't like to start early! As far as we could tell, Perry's work was fine. There were no plumbing leaks, the steam generator was wired correctly and work fine and the electrial work looked good too.
After the behind-the-walls work was done, Perry passed the job of tiling off to some assistants who worked directly for him. We were already a little uncertain about things while Perry was doing his behind the walls work, but this is where things really got messy. Installing the cement board on the walls went fairly well without too much waste. We asked to have Curdy membrane installed but Perry wanted to do a rubber liner. We went ahead and purchased the Curdy and pretty much just told Perry thats what we wanted installed. Whether that was done right is anyone's guess. The installers had never put up Curdy membrane before. My wife had told the contractor that she wanted 1/8" grout lines but the tile installers put up the tile (12" x 24" tiles) with 1/4" grout lines. They had to tear out all the tile and start over which cost a box of tile and a day's worth of time. From there things went VERY SLOWLY. I'll make a long story short(er). The tiling started with 2 workers but one was fired because he was raiding our refridgerator. After about 2 weeks, the other worker advised me that he really didn't have a whole lot of experience installing tile which is why the job was taking so long. By this point, we'd far exceeded the 15% tile waste allowance and were down about 3 entire boxes of tile due to poor quality work and the contractor not listening to our instructions.
Finally............there were some additional problems with the wall tiles such as tile not joining up correctly (high/low spots), problems getting the niche tiled correctly and just the extremely slow pace of progress. We called Perry directly to have him go and take a look to see what corrections could be made, perhaps pull down a couple of problem tiles that were high in a corner and problems with tiling the niche. Perry did come to the house, looked things over and decided he'd had enough and quit.
In all, while 2/3rds of the wall got tiled (adequately), there was no detail work done. No accent tile, no floor tile, partially tiled shower bench. Now remember, his initial estimate was somewhere in the neighborhood of $4,500 for the entire job. He sent us a bill for $5133.18 but less than half of the job was completed!!! His bill included items like a Finish Nailer, Hole Saw, Screen Door, etc.!!! Over $320 in add-ons that had nothing to do with my bathroom.
We hired some REAL tile installers about a week later. They gave me a realistic (but more expensive) estimate of $3,000 - $3,500 to fix the existing tile problems and finish the job. This new tile contractor said they'd be done in FOUR days! They WERE done in four days and did a fantastic job (my next review on this contractor coming soon).

They were horrible. They did not show up on time. They stained my floors the wrong color. They had to come out and redo the finish because it was peeling off. They dented my refridgerator when they were moving the appliances out of the way. It was bad. I would not recommend them to anyone.
