My experience was bad. The reason why we called them was because we tried to start the heater this year it didn't start and a really strong burning smell came from the unit. They came on the second day that I called. He told me that my unit was fine and the smell came from the dust settled in there but he needed to replace couple contactors. When he finished that procedure the unit didn't work and then he wanted to replaced the termostat in wall. I told him not because I can do that my self. The do charge 98 dollars and hour I was already in debt 205. If they replaced the termostat that would've another 150 dollars. So I went to Home Depot bought the termostat and put it on myself but before I did turn everything on I decided to check the breakers inside the unit also I did inspect the new contactors . What to surprise the breaker was off still but also I noticed that the wires to the fan were burned. This means that he never saw the unit running. he was just fixing the most common problems without really testing every part. I did told to one of the supervisors, Steve and I told him what the technician did in my house. he responded that his guys would never do anything like that. Even though I send them some pictures on an e-mail I Never hear nothing else from them but they did the check right away. Finally I called C&C and spliced together the burned wires for only 65 dollars. I did spend an extra 250 thanks to Adco. Thanks for nothing.

[Member name removed] elected not to have the technician finish the repairs as he wanted to replace the thermostat himself. The wires were not burnt in the unit when our technician left his home and can be verified by pictures taken on the tech's iPad."

Called on Tuesday and they came the next day. Did not ask about emergency service because we have dual systems and could afford to wait if needed.
The phone contact was very professional and informative. They explained the minimum charge for a service call, etc. Told me they should be at my house between 9 and 10 the next morning. Arrived at 9:15.
The service tech was polite and professional, seemed to know exactly what he was doing and was more than happy to answer my questions.
He identified and fixed the problem in 30 minutes, and our heat pump has been running great for the last two weeks (I always like to wait a while before submitting a review just to make sure it is completely fixed).

SEE ABOVE. Basically we have suffered physically and emotionally due to ADCO's negligence. I believe they could care less when they make a mistake. I have 4 long yrs of experience and details to lenghty to outline here. Overall we have been uncomfortable in our own home and have had to change our lifestyle due to this issue. For examle, we no loner grill in the summer due to heat outside and having no comfort when inside, no longer have company due to temperature in our home, and quit using the upstairs of our house which is where our undersized unit effects the most.

"ADCO, Inc. strives to install our HVAC systems according to Kentucky Code Enforcement, but the comfort of a home doesn't consist of HVAC alone, other factors affect the overall comfort level. Such as building infiltration and insulation. Our company runs a Manual J Heat Load on all homes. ADCO, Inc. has been cleared by the State HVAC Inspector, Carrier Corporation, Courts and other listed agencies as being at NO FAULT on any of these problems. The only code violation that we were shown was no cold air return in the upstairs, because customer didn't want this done at the time of construction, We have since fixed this problem to State approval. We have also been in contact with 2 other HVAC contractors who were asked to come out and look at this home, They have both stated that the only problem is inadequate insulation in the home. The unit and zone controls are working according to state & manufacturer specifications."

They are on 24-hour call and that is the reason that I think they are a great company. I have never had any problems. I have called them on weekends and they have come out and done what I needed them to do. I called on a weekend and they were out here within a matter of hours. I don't think that they are expensive. They are usually here within 30 minutes when they make an appointment. I recommend them to people.

The work that was done as described above seems to be good quality and a month later my a/c is working as expected. The repair person called me several times during the repair process to let me know what was going on, what needed to be done, and what it would cost. That's the good news. The problem with their service, however, is that their emergency service did not work and that created a MAJOR inconvenience for me as I will describe. I live 300 miles from my house that is empty and for sale and needs some work (e.g., painting). I made the trip to the house on a weekend and even planned to take that Monday off from work so I could do more work on the house. When I got there, the a/c was not working and the inside temperature was about 100 so I obviously could do no work until the a/c was fixed. Since I had used ADCO the last couple of times for routine maintenance and minor repairs of the HVAC, including routine maintenance just a couple of months earlier, I called them and followed their recorded instructions for emergency service but the instructions did not work. They had instructions for emergency service in a neighboring area so I tried that and was able to leave a message but no one called me back. I had to turn around and drive 300 miles back home having accomplished zero and spending all that money for gasoline. I called ADCO on that Monday and then they had the repairs done by that Friday (by that time there was no rush as I was no longer there and unable to return right away). I am very unpleased with the lack of emergency response as promised on their phone message system and I let them know that but I don't think it made a difference to them (i.e., they didn't offer me anything for my inconvenience).

Came home on a friday night to an AC unit not working. Called ADCO at 7 a.m., he was at my home by 8:30 a.m.. He was unable to fix it that day, but did come back on Monday. I was a little unhappy with the fact he didn't show up Monday until 5 p.m., but i guess he had to work us in. It is up and running and thats what counts.
