Concrete Surface and Design

They did a great job. They showed up when they said they were going to, they got the work done and they cleaned up after themselves.

I don’t think it could’ve went any better. They did what they said they would do. The end product turned out better than anyone envisioned. I would definitely use them again on another project. A++++.

John Hoxmeier did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. We would eagerly recommend him to friends and family.

We found this company at the Cincinnati Home and Garden Show.  We had an appointment with Dan in April and asked if work could be completed by Memorial Day.  The company was involved in an extremely large project in Lexington and could not get the job done by then.  Then the owner had an accident and was out of work for awhile.  Then we had rain to deal with and finally on June 2, 3 and 4 of 2015 the work was done.  Dan was the only worker on this job.  He did an excellent job on our project.  We had him do bricks for part of the job and he did an excellent job especially since it was his first time doing a project like this.  He took his time and asked us constantly along the way if the color was ok and if we liked it so far.  The back patio was done in earth tone with a touch of chocolate added in the Flagstone Carvings design and it also turned out great.  Dan was on time each day and was very nice and professional.  The neighbors have commented how nice the front of our house looks from the street.  The people who have seen the patio work also commented on what an improvement that decorative concrete does to an ordinary patio.  I would have them come back and do future work.  Every 3 years the concrete needs to be re-sealed to  maintain the integrity of the surface.

The weather was the biggest obstacle to the schedule, but the crew carefully and consistently communicated with me when they would be coming, what their anticipated work to be completed during that visit would be and when they would be returning again for the next stage.
I was a little disappointed with the results, but it had nothing to do with the quality or workmanship. It is a little rougher on bare feet than expected, but perhaps this will smooth out after use. I didn't realize that the product required sealing yearly, so I was bummed that it wasn't exactly and quot;maintenance freeand quot;, but hopefully it will be durable and maintain it's bright clean look through the coming years.

I met with John Hoxmeier of Concrete Surface and Design after receiving a recommendation from a neighbor. John runs a small shop so I had to deal with some scheduling issues, but all in all John was very professional. The previous owner had painted the concrete front porch and steps which started to peal and crack after time. After reviewing several samples and photos of past work we settled on an acrylic concrete resurfacer. Concrete Surface and Design ground off the old paint, patched the concrete cracks and applied the concrete resurfacer. After watching the three day process I think John underestimated the labor involved in patching and preping the existing concrete, but he never asked for more time or an extended deadline. After a year everything still looks great.
My only complaint was the crew could have been neater in the clean up. Some of the acrylic concrete got tracked across the drive way and took some effort on my part to remove.
