Overall installation went well but I am extremely dissatisfied with their professionalism - several plants have died (that's normal) however we have failed even have our calls returned by anyone at Ammon's in order to replace them as they said they would

We no longer use them but they were fine. We just thought that their pricing for snow was a little high and we found a younger guy right down the street that wanted some income and needed it more than Ammons. But Ammons did a landscaping project for us and put a french drain in and just did a nice job. They used to mow the grass and again the young guy down the street is doing it now.

We stumbled upon Ammon during the time we were looking for a nursery to supply all of the plants for our patio planting beds. They were nice enough to open for a few hours on a Saturday to help us out. We went in with a plan already in place and they helped us see what would work and what wouldn't. Some of the plants we had chosen wouldn't flourish in the conditions in our backyard and they had other suggestions, which they had no problem switching when we said we didn't like some of them. The only reason we rated this a B was because we are unsure of the quality of the plants thus far. Some are not fairing too well regardless of our best watering/feeding efforts. Only time will tell, but for now, we are rating quality at a "B"

I purchased a new home in December 2008 and considered two landscaping companies for the task of planting my troublesome back yard. The process started with phone calls and then visits to discuss the project. Clay Ammon came out and we immediately connected. He understood what I was asking for and took copius notes. The other company's representative did not take any notes and never even walked intot he back yard to take a closer look. Both companies presented me with drawings and a proposal, but Ammon's put the other company to shame. (Note: Ammon charges a fee for the design/drawing, but it is subtracted from the job total if you hire them.) Ammon showed me the drawing and did a computer slide presentation of the plants they were suggesting, and gave me an itemized estimate. The other company gave me a simple black and white drawing (containing numerous errors) and a lump sum estimate. Without hesistation, I hired Ammon Outdoor Design. Because I had not given any cost parameters for the project, it was a bit higher than I was hoping, so I asked for it to be pared back a little. That was no problem for Ammon. We agreed on the final plan and waited for the weather to warm up to begin. The project included the killing and removal of unwanted grass, putting in a stone patio with a rock wall, putting in a paver patio, putting in a dry creek, pitting in stone stairs with a stone bridge over the dry creek, installing a water feature (rock bubbler), installing an irrigation system and planting numerous trees (small, medium and large), shrubs and plants. A combination privacy fence/three-board fence was also part of the plan, which Ammon subcontracted out. I had asked them to create a transition from the existing woods into the yard, using plantings that would attract birds and butterflies, as well as provide some fragrance for me. The birds were watching the progress every day! There were some weather delays, but Clay kept in touch to let me know when things would happen. His crew was the absolute best. I cannot say enough good things about them. They were very respectful, tolerated my inquisitive neighbors butting in, and were very thorough in their job - from start to finish. They definitely went the extra mile for me. The plantings all have a two year guarantee, and some of them have needed to be replaced - all with great thought and care. I am 100% happy with the workers and end result.
