I have been a patient of Dr. Hewitt for 7 years. And up until this past year, I have never had a problem with him or the office staff. Dr. Hewitt has delivered both my sons via c-section with no problems and has ALWAYS been very professional and helpful in all my questions and concerns. And Pam, his assistant, regardless of how her day is going, always greets me with a smile and makes me feel very comfortable. But the ladies up front really need a refresher on their job duties and professional training in customer service. The last 2 times that I have gone to the office, I have had to wait for close to 2 hours because the ladies at the front desk put my chart accidentally in Dr. Davis's section (I've never been attended by him). When I've called the office, they are rude and seemed annoyed if I have a question that may require them to get up and actually look in my file. I recently needed a refill on my birth control, it took 3 weeks for the woman in charge of that to fax in my rx (good thing I never wait last min. to refill or I would have been out). I could understand if I changed birth control but I've been on the same kind and used the same pharmacy for 2 years. My pharmacy faxed the refill form once, I physically fax another form 2 times and then called, before they actually faxed it over. When I spoke to the woman about my rx, she was incredibly rude and unprofessional (before any1 tries to assume no I was not rude in anyway) and tried to tell me that she had already sent it over the day before. But I told her that I had already called the pharmacy and they didn't have anything come in. Then her story changed to "well I sent it yesterday and this morning to be sure." And sure enough when I got off the phone with her I called my pharmacy and the fax was coming in right then..... Over this last year I have had about enough of them. I have never been a problematic patient and I feel that personal problems need to be set aside during working hours. I've been a patient for a long time and deserve a little more respect. Not to mention that while sitting in the waiting area you can hear them gossip about other patients in negative ways, they don't say names but its unprofessional. It makes a little uncomfortable knowing these people are handling my confidential medical information. I am really considering changing my gyno just because of this office staff. No one like to go to their annual appt and it's worst knowing that you'll be greeted by a rude staff.
