I was new to the area so I did a lot of calling around and checking Angie's list before I chose Dog's Day Out (DDO). I also drove by several places. I'm picky about where I leave my dogs because I've had bad experiences and one very good one, so I know what a difference a good facility makes. Most of the other places I called provided the basics. DDO provided the basics, and much more. The dogs are rotated to the play areas outside several times a day and are allowed to play with other dogs, the staff, and splash in the big wading pool. The staff matches up dogs that will play well together, and they keep the large dogs and small dogs separate. All of the other places I talked to would let them out in a run, but that was it. If the client wanted their dogs walked or played with, they were either out of luck, or charged extra. One place I called was $5 per walk or play session/ per dog. One of our dogs has had several knee surgeries and sitting for long periods of time on concrete stiffens him up. The facilities are very nice, look new, and smell and look really clean. There are covered areas and play areas inside for inclement weather. The owner's home is adjacent to the facility, so there is someone nearby 24-7. The staff that I encountered were enthusiastic and professional. They seemed well trained and very knowledgeable about dog behavior. DDO has a larger staff than anyone else I talked to. I called several times beforehand and each time I was treated well and my questions were answered fully. When I delivered my dogs, the staff was very welcoming and comfortable with my dogs, and when they walked away, my dogs didn't even look back at us. We got reports on the dogs on how well they played and interacted with the other dogs. One of my dogs needed more supervision, and got it. The play areas are big and are divided to accommodate small dogs, or dogs that don't play as well with others. There are always trained staff members out with the dogs. DDO has a facebook page and a Web site, and we were able to see pics of our dogs after we got back. My husband and I call it and quot; The Spaand quot;! The prices are higher per dog, but discounts are given for additional dogs. I paid $27 for the first dog, then 1/2 half ($13.50) that for the second dog, to equal $40.50 per night. If I would have boarded them elsewhere I would have paid up to $23 per night, per dog, plus additional for walks and play time. There is paperwork to fill out beforehand, but I didn't mind. It just gives the staff a better idea of what each pet needs. When I picked my dogs up, they were calm, happy, and tired! I was very pleased with my experience at DDO, and will always take my dogs there.

My two girls go to stay at DDO on a regular basis. The ladies working there display an obvious love for dogs, and I feel the dogs are well cared for when they can't be home. They usually come home relaxed and tired from playing with all their friends.

It went very well overall. The dogs are always a bit apprehensive at first, and each of them has his/her own quirks about being left somewhere other than home. One loves to be with new animals, one shines after Mama, and one sits in the corner and sulks. By the end of the day, each had become comfortable with their new surroundings and they now know where they are going when we turn in the driveway to the kennel. One big plus is that staff members take photos of our pets throughout the day and they are posted almost daily on the "Dog's Day Out" Facebook page. So, we can see how things went for our pets during the day! I love that!

Great. I highly recommend this kennel. In all our years of taking our dogs to kennels, for boarding over the holidays etc. this is by far the best. Very professional, exceptionally clean. During the day it is a "cage free" daycare and our dogs are out of the cage and socializing with other dogs (don't worry, they are supervised). The dogs are grouped by size to play outdoors. One of our dogs is elderly and they group the geriatric dogs together. :) At night they board the dogs indoors in individual kennels. It's more expensive than other kennels we've used, but it's worth it. If your dog is one of your family members, you can trust the caring staff at Dog's Day Out. They are members of the ASPCA and APDT. Check out their website. It'll give you a good feel for the place.
