Front office somewhat rude depending on who you speak with. Dr Jaco has a horrible bedside manner, he cannot look you in the face while speaking factually about your pet's health which always makes me question their truthfulness. He told us our beagle just had a very mild heart arrythmia causing her hind legs to be partially paralyzed and he could have her back to normal in a couple weeks.  I questioned his diagnosis as I'm a medical provider for humans.  He assured me, did numerous tests and sent them to University of Alabama...tests came back negative completely...not even any arrythmia.  So he said she had advanced arthritis and needed stem cell injections and that he'd performed them on 60 dogs with 55 of them getting complete recovery and the other 5 partial recovery.  Our Beagle's paralysis advanced even faster by the end of her 4 week regimen 4 days after her last injection he said she needed to be put to sleep.....As for our lab pup they nearly killed her 1st visit giving her the dosage for a 60 lb dog when she was barely 6 lbs.  We found him to be unethical and untruthful in both his professional and private life.  Stay away...far away from this quack.

Found him to have poor bedside manners and somewhat odd personality but believed he was a qualified vet. His initial diagnosis was heart dysfunction and some arthritis. He treated with oral meds, two weeks later he changed his diagnosis with hind leg paralysis due to spinal cord inflammation. He told us he had treated over 60 dogs with stem cell injections for hind leg paralysis with only 5 of the dogs not responding with return of hind leg function. We paid $400 dollars for the treatment after we paid over $220 for a heart test and office visit but no xrays or imagining tests and over an additional $200 for blood work and treatment for wrong diagnosis. Sadly, within 6 weeks of his stem cell injections our dog continued to get worse...losing bowel and bladder control. At the 6 week post injection visit he recommended putting down our beloved pet and stated and quot;she'd outlived her better days.and quot; Their was no apology for missed diagnosis or for our pet failing to respond to his stem cell injections. I understand that pets may not respond positively to a certain treatment..in hind site we just felt we were fed a sales pitch that in the end cost over $1000 only to have our pet die. We had taken our son's new pup in once during same time period and he nearly killed it with an overdose injection...he blamed his staff for getting doses mixed up. We never took the pup back and our dog died the following week. For Dr. Jaco it seemed just like another day in the office...he could have at least pretended to care about our loss. We loved our dog deeply...and she slept with us every night.
We later learned of other customers with near identical stories of him seeming most interested in additional services that cost big additional dollars. We also learned that his behaviors out of the office were less than professional and I'll leave it at that.

I felt really comfortable leaving Lucy with the staff. She is a tempermental dog and they didnt seem to be too concerned with that aspect. As long as the heartworms are gone and Lucy is healthy again, I will be very happy

I am very pleased with Dr. Jaco. I have been a Chihuahua breeder for over 30 years. I have many years of positive and negative experiences with veterinarians as well. I am pleased to tell you that Dr. Paul Jaco is tops in his field!!!! We recently had an incident of a dog fight between 2 females. Suddenly one of them became lame and was unable to use her hind legs. I thought she had fractured her spine. We took her to Companion Animal Hospital right away. Dr. Jaco examined her and immediately knew what was wrong with her. He commented that the crossed hind legs could only mean one thing. Bulging disk. He took his time in explaining why the injury occurred and all of our options for treatment. He even took the time to show us diagrams and photos to help us understand what truly happened and how to prevent further damage and the correct treatment plan to follow. He also discussed the cost upfront; so there were no surprises. He kept the dog for the day, took x-rays of her spine, to verify his diagnosis and began treating her with pain medication and anti-inflammatories. I am very pleased with the service and care his hospital provides. I have to admit he is very skilled and is very knowledgable of the latest innovations in veterinary care. This is our second visit to his office to have our dogs treated. He is very intelligent, gentle with pets and funny as well! He even informed me of a genetic defect in one of my dogs that NO OTHER Veterinarian detected! Excellent Excellent Veterinarian!!! Highly recommend!!!
