After some initial confusion, it went well. I guess the office receptionist didn't communicate what the problem was properly, so the first guy came and said he did a routine service and everything was working great (I wasn't present). I had to ask them to come back and actually fix the problem. They got me in touch with the service manager who dispatched someone else really quickly (immediately) who did a good job analyzing and diagnosing the possible problem. This guy (Kevin) was really good - he offered a solution that was much more cost effective than replacing the whole evaporator coil and it worked to keep my system functioning. Overall I was satisfied with Rechtin and would hire them again.

Very well. I had been using Tom Rechtin to service my existing furnace and A/C for many years. When informed that I was living on borrowed time (the system had been installed by someone else in 1989), I scheduled an appointment for a review. The estimator came out quickly, examined the old system, measured everywhere, and looked at the existing vents and thermostat. The system he recommended was 80% efficiency (90% would have involved expensive work on the old chimney). There were more expensive units but he did not try to upsell me. The quoted price was well within my anticipated budget. The estimator came out on May 30 and the installation commenced June 6. It was a two-day project with the crew working all day both days. They cleaned up well upon completion. They were very polite young men. The estimator stopped by at least once during the installation. The supervisor came out at least once to check on the work and to make sure the A/C was properly charged. There was a 10% discount for paying cash, which I did. A new programable thermostat was installed in a better location. The crew removed the old thermostat and a control for a humidifier I had never used.

Well. I had been using Tom Rechtin for many years to service my old system which was installed by someone else around 1989. The service person told me I was on borrowed time due to the age of the system, especially the A/C unit. The company sent a sales representative to my home quickly. He looked over the old system and went throughout the house checking the vents and measuring. He recommended a system good enough for my needs. I noted that it was the least expensive and 80% efficiency. He did not try to upsell me. There was a 10% discount for paying cash as of the completion of the project. The sales person came out May 30 and the work commenced on June 6. The two-man crew worked tirelessly June 6 and 7 and I was up and running. Their supervisor came out maybe twice to check on the progress and to make sure the A/C was properly charged. The salesman made at least one visit while the work was being done. The crew cleaned up very nicely when the job was completed.

Tom Rechtin installed out high efficiency furnace nearly 6 years ago. This was our first problem with it. We called to report the problem and they came out the same day. The service technician, Derrick, quickly troubleshot the problem to an intermittent gas valve. The part had to be ordered, but when it arrived, Derrick was right back out to install it. He was professional, knowledgeable, polite, focused, and had the furnace repaired in about an hour, explaining everything he was doing along the way. An absolutely exceptional young man. If and when I need service again, the choice will be simple.

Very good! They sent a commercial installer who did not install residential equipment. He made a significant number of mistakes. My husband was actually there and was watching the whole progress of the job. The man installed a pipe that was supposed to send the exhaust from the furnace outside of the house. The salesman had already told us about the installation process and the installer was doing it completely wrong. My husband had to keep emailing the sales person to ask if the installer had any idea of what he was doing. The salesman would then call the installer and tell him to do it right. However, he still didn't address it the way he should have and he was hesitant. It took them 3 or 4 days longer than they said they would because they kept making mistakes. The air conditioning was leaking onto the path of the furnace and we decided to contact them. They sent somebody out, who concluded that it was not much of a big deal and decided to push it in a little. My husband said that that wasn't going to help with the problem. Of course it didn't fix the problem, the liquid was still leaking down the door. We called them back and they came and kept putting a black insulation on the pipes. The third time we called them, the man came and did what my husband could work by himself and he came up with a solution. We don't know if it works yet because we haven't yet used the air conditioner. When they installed the air conditioning compressor outside, they didn't well the Freon tube tightly enough so after, it was leaking Freon. It was leaking Freon before the installer left the house. My husband saw it and showed it to him but he said it was no problem. The next day, we called in to tell them that it was leaking Freon. He came back and he had to completely evacuate the line so that he could fix it. Eventually, the owner of the company called and apologized because I was so upset. Unfortunately, the next person who came was nasty and didn't have a solution for the air conditioning problem. The owner really tried, he did call and listen to me. But do I think they'll make any changes based on what I told them? No, I do not. They lacked attention to detail and had poor quality. A company that cares about the work they're doing shouldn't be making such obvious mistakes in the quality of the work. I wouldn't recommend them.
