They were very professional. Their punctuality could have been a bit better, but otherwise they did a great job. They are very knowledgeable and really seemed to know what they were doing.

Initially I contacted Gary Jolly in mid-May and described to him the work I wanted done. He gave me an estimate over the phone, but I wanted to set up an appointment to make sure. After an hour, when he did not show up for the appointment, I called him. He had a conflict and was very apologetic, and we rescheduled. The estimate he sent me a few days later was slightly higher, but I needed to have these shrubs removed so I could put up a fence, and some companies would not come because the job was too small. So I appreciated their willingness to do the work, and I thought the amount was reasonable enough. When I got this estimate in the mail, I left a voice mail message that I wanted his company to do the work. After not hearing back for several days, I called him again, and he immediately scheduled the work for the following Monday at around 9 AM, the last week of June. Two men and a younger boy--maybe 8th or 9th grade--came. They got here around 9:30 and worked for about 2 hours. The men did most of the heavy work; the boy mainly hauled debris to the trailer. They did a good job of clearing the hedges--a very thorny job--and the ivy. They were unable to cut the tree down quite as far as Gary had indicated, but they got it almost to ground level and cut slashes in the trunk to help it decay faster. They brought grass seed and straw to cover the bare soil--an extra I wasn't expecting. They knew I was planning to put in a fence and suggested that I might want to wait until the fence was in, or the new grass would be trampled. I agreed that this was a good idea, so they left the hay and seed for me to use later. They also cut a fallen limb in my yard so that I could bundle it for the trash. I was in the house as they were finishing up, and I went outside to check things over, but they already had left. There were some small pieces of debris they missed when raking the yard, but I was going to do some more yard work myself, so it wasn't a problem. Both Gary and the men who came to do the work were very nice and I would hire them again. The only downer to this is that recently suckers have started springing up from around the tree trunk again, so I'm trying to find a way to take care of that.

It went well. Gary returned my call and I told him what my issue was and he sent someone out to take care of this within 10 days.
