Top Hat Chimney And Duct

Great. They were on time. Professional. Knowledgeable. Covid aware, masked and social distanced.

My appt was for 10:15 am and they arrived at 11:00 am. They were knowlgeable and made a couple of recommendations. I am satisfied with the work, but I do have one observation - see my remarks below. I noticed on the reviews, there was another inspection and sweep and their fee was $95. This was done a week prior to mines.

They did an excellent job and were very professional. Have scheduled a reinspection for next November

Great! The water we were getting in the basement around both chimneys has stopped and we haven't had to pay to repair the entire basement.

I walked into my home one day and the smell almost knocked me over.  Apparently something had died in my chimney!  Other companies couldn't come out for a month, but Top Hat would be available in a week.  When they arrived, there were 4 dead squirrels in my chimney!  I hadn't been able to get the flue open or perhaps they would have lived, I don't know.  The gentleman who came told me I should have told them it was an emergency and they would have come sooner, so if you think you have a animal that might still be alive in yours, let them know that immediately.  They were very courteous and did a great job in cleaning up.  They also checked the wire around my chimney top and saw that the squirrels had somehow gotten through it, so they replaced it with a better wrap.  I'm very happy and would use them again!

The men from Top Hat were excellent. They cleaned our chimney and fireplace, explained to us how to properly use and care for the fireplace (we are new home owners) and even gave us tips on how to make the fireplace pretty. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. They noted that our chimney crown had been cheaply patched but did not pressure us to fix it right then. They gave us a quote and information and we will be using them in the future to address this problem. Very pleased with Top Hat!

Two nice guys showed up a few minutes early. They were quick and courteous and left no trace of the work they did.

Mr. Fink of Top Hat repaired our chimney crown on 10/30/2010. This involved repairing the concrete and applying a sealant to the crown. The work appeared to look fine. Mr. Fink provided a card stating that the product he applied carried a 15 year warranty. In March of 2012, we happened to be inspecting our roof after a hail storm. We noticed that the product that Mr. Fink applied was peeling off. Mr. Fink came out to the home and informed us that something was wrong and that it would be corrected. Mr. Fink never returned. He refused to return phone calls and answer certified letters that were mailed to him. On 4/19/13, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. They made several attempts to contact Mr. FInk but also were unsuccessful. We were informed by the Better Business Bureau that they maintain Reliability Reports on companies and with Top Hat's failure to respond to our problem, this would be reflected in the report that is provided to consumers. Mr. Fink does not honor his work performed so we don't want other individuals to have a similar experience by hiring Top Hat.

They very extremely prompt - coming by the same day I called. I had a pretty significant leak somewhere in the masonry of my chimney. The guys were very thorough and inspected all areas. They fixed the leak and now everything is completely dry and it's definitely been tested with all the rain we've had lately. Great job!

We had a few leak stains on the ceilings inside. Thought the problem was with the roof. Had a new roof replaced and David with Champion roofing noticed the problem with the chimney. Called David with Top Hat and he came out and looked the chimney over really good. Found all kinds of problems. Wish we had called him before buying the home 9 years ago! He basically rebuilt the whole chimney. David and his crew are very professional. I would recommend them to anyone! A little pricey, but what isn't now a days.
