The representative seemed very knowledgeable during the estimate process; he provided multiple solutions. We chose the more expensive one because it had a 20 year gaurantee and seemed more structurally sound. They were prompt and finished the work in less time than they said it would take. My only concern is that they left a pile of dirt in the back yard from where they dug. I've learned that the dirt would not be appropriate for the landscaping they recommended and that they should have removed it.
They did recommend landscaping on the other side of our house where the basement leaks during heavy rains; they could have simply charged us more money for a more expensive solution instead of referring us to services to have the yarn re-graded.

We called after having water come in our basement during a very rainy day.  We were afraid that we had some structural damage and the water wasn't getting to the sump pump.  Someone was able to come to our house that day.  After looking around he suggested our issue was from the drought and then sudden rain, and not a structural issue.  He gave us solutions we could purchase at Lowes to solve the problem and then suggested we get dirt brought in as well at some point as the ground had sunk as well.  Very happy that he was honest that we didn't need to pay him a ton of money and that he gave us suggestions we could do ourselves.

Due to the severe drought in south central KS this year, the front half of our home had settled enough to cause cracks in the drywall, doors not closing properly, etc.  After one call to KS Basement & Foundation, Mike Demel arrived at my house with 24 hrs.  He was courteous and professional and explained everything that was going on with our foundation due to the drought and other factors.  Within 2 days he sent me a detailed proposal/estimate of the work involved.  The crew arrived as scheduled and were able to complete the job in only 3 days.  The installation crew were very friendly and professional and were able to answer all my questions as the work progressed.  Very nice job by the entirethe entire company.  Thank you.

Chris Boshart arrived on-time to inspect our home and propose/bid foundation repair work.  He spent a good deal of time listening to my concerns and was thorough in his inspection of the foundation and signs of settlement on the interior and exterior of the home.  He was very courteous and answered my questions.  We recieved a bid and references very quickly.  The bid and work proposed was very competitive with other bids we received.  The scope of work was also pretty much in-line with the opinion we later recieved from an independent structural engineer we hired.  The owner of the company even visited us personally to have a look at one specific concern we had in the center of the house (confirmed by him as well as structural engineer to be a floor joist issue and not related to the foundation repair needed).I would recommend this company to friends and neighbors - we are having our home piered and this company's per pier cost was actually a bit less than the company we hired.  The two reasons we decided to go with a different company were:1.  The company we hired could get us on their schedule in 10 days; A function of a larger company with more crews/equipment that also luckily had a job cancelled and we grabbed that opening...KS Basement could not get us on their schedule for 4 or 5 weeks.  We have a lot of other jobs we need to get done after foundation is done and has time to rest (windows/siding/exterior paint) and were in a bit of a hurry to get things going.2.  The company we hired is based here where we live in Johnson County.  We had some more comfort with that - knowing the owners, managers, etc. are all close-by.Bottom Line: If you are contemplating foundation work - it's a BIG deal and it's not cheap - so you want more than one bid and you want the opinion of an independent structural engineer as well.  We felt this company was competitively priced, experienced and honest (and our engineer, when I pressed for names, mentioned this company as one he'd trust, too).  Make this company one you call for an opinion.  You may want to hire them! For us it came down to timing and location.

Salesman Dave Tinsman looked at the entire basement as well as areas around the house. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and provided his assessment and helpful advice on how to prevent dampness, including low cost solutions and more extensive installation of equipment as an option. Overall very happy with both assessment and attitude of salesman.

A gentleman showed up on time and immediately diagnosed the problem as being, not a leaky basement, but a leaking valve where the water supply enters the basement. 30 seconds with a wrench fixed it. He also recommended $20 worth of simple maintenance we could do to prevent future problems. They did not charge for the call or estimate. I was very pleased with his attitude, helpfulness and graciousness, and certainly appreciated him forgoing a charge for the housecall. We will certainly call this company the next time we have a problem with the basement or foundation.

It was really good although I may not know for awhile if the leaking is stopped. There was some water spraying out of the sub-pump and they sent someone out very quickly to fix that.

This was a very stressful situation-we were having water problems, a ceiling that was partially caving in due to the wall pushing so far in and large cracks in the drywall. Dave (the salesman) came out and was so calm and professional-we felt immediately at ease. Once the crew arrived that feeling continued-they had some challenges and met every one with a professional demeanor. We are impressed with Kansas Basement and would recommend them to anyone having problems with basement and foundation issues.

The last job I had performed was a piering job on my Basement. I have had three jobs done by KBFR and I if anything else needs done, you can guarantee they will be the company I call. I was sent a letter showing what the salesman would look like and a complete bio about him and his family. The salesman was nice and didn t try to sell me any unnecessary items. The workers where very professional and respectful of my home. I had different crews come out for the different jobs and every time they were just as respectful as the last. After the job was finished they ask for a testimonial and send me out mailers when it is time for one of the products they installed to be serviced. The house was on the market and I was able to sell it after the repairs.

KBFR inspected the job and wrote up a quote. They were not able to get behind my furnace so they knocked about 300 bucks off the estimate. The place looked just as nice when they left as when they came to do the work.
