Star provided the windows, flooring, and stone/tile for our backsplashes and around our fireplace for our new home we had built in 2018. The process selecting the materials was pretty smooth, except they had a pretty small selection for some items. The problems started when they installed our LVP flooring. There were pieces cut too short that eventually moved, exposing the subfloor song the baseboards. It took Star three visits to fix this in our entry way. Now, the same thing has started in our kitchen. Also, they sold us MI windows that have been nothing but problematic. It took them six visits trying to fix the windows before they and the builder decided to replace two of them with casement windows. Now, three years later, those windows are leaking and Star simply told me to pound sand and that I would have to deal with MI on my own. Also, after the LVP flooring was installed the floor started popping when we walk across the living room. As part of the installation, they were supposed to sand down raised areas of the subfloor caused by rain. I don't know if that somehow caused the popping, the weight of the flooring, or what it may have been, but simply reinforcing the subfloor with additional screws would have likely prevented it. Now there isn't an affordable way to fix the popping without pulling up the expensive LVP flooring and replacing it. Thanks, Star. I will never step foot in Star Lumber again. Through example, they have shown time and time again that they don't take care of their customers.

Fair workmanship. some edges are uneven, some show fiber backing. didn't have enough carpet for installation, had to return 3 weeks later to complete installation. during initial installation of steps, crew did not bring to our attention there was a gap between sheetrock and steps. a gap remained after carpet installed. Agreed to let me remove, add new treads, and completed a satisfactory installation 3 week later when the balance of the carpet needed arrived.

This was a store visit to purchase bathroom faucets. The west side
store customer service person, Rick R., was extremely helpful. He
quickly found the matching items I needed. He carried them to my car.
Then he introduced me to Nancy in the cabinet department.
This is exactly opposite Star's east side location. Twice I've walked into this
store and been totally ignored.
The first time I walked up to the
counter in the middle of the store to ask a question. There were
several people behind the counter. Some were assisting other customers,
some were not. I was not even acknowledged. After a brief time, I went
to the area where I found what I needed. Since I didn't see what I
wanted I left.
The second time I went into Star's east side store--same
thing. If I need something that badly from Star that I can't get from
one of the other three big name stores, I'll drive to the west side
store.

We had the team of Shawn,Dewy and Cliff and feel that they did an
excellent job. We appreciated how Shawn made sure any cut tiles were
not placed so that they would be easily seen. They kept things very
organized and as clean as a work site could be. They called to let us
know they were on their way each morning that they worked in our home. They helped us understand the process of how they were laying the tile and made sure we knew how to take care of it. I would certainly want this team back if we were to install any more tile.

I gave them a sketch of what I wanted, they figured out what I needed for composite Decking and for Red Cedar.
They had a number of choices for composites - We chose one and they priced both types. I chose what I could afford (red Cedar) and setup for delivery at a certain time on Halloween. We paid and thanked them for their great help and service. If there are any problems with delivery (and I doubt it), I will return to this review for comment.

Crew gets here and apparently no one told them about the tile needing to be removed before installing carpet. They say they don't have the equipment and cannot remove tile, will have to wait for the and quot;hard flooring crewand quot; to come out and remove tile before they can carpet this room.
Took over 3 weeks to complete the job, while I deal with all my furniture stacked up in a corner and bare subfloor in this room. They kept telling me a crew would be out on day X, then they would never show up. This happened 3 times. and quot;Crewand quot; finally shows up, it is one guy with a prybar, took him 3 days to finish remove the tile, then I had to wait some more for the carpet crew to come out and finish.
I will never use them again.

I would make Star my first stop when shopping for ideas and products for remodeling now that I'm nearly done with this construction. They have a large selection of suppliers and are willing to steer you in the right direction for your buget and your style.

I was allowed to keep the carpet samples for several days, Kent guided me on quality and price considering my specific needs. The installers were timely and took care with moving furniture, etc. Gave suggestions on pads to buy to move furniture on own. Everything went well and there were no problems or issues.

They were there when they said they would be. If I had any questions, they answered the questions with what I felt was an applicable answer. When I had a problem with one of the pieces of wood I think I should say flaking off they sent someone to repair it at my convenience. I feel if I call them again today even after two years, they would still send someone out and fix it. The warranty is good.

It was a good experience. The quality was good. The salesperson followed up well and she was excellent. She was very punctual and very helpful to us. We had a couple of issues after they put the floors in and they were out promptly and repaired them.

They came through my builder. They put in laminate and solid surface countertops. They also did hardwood flooring, tiles, and linoleum flooring. Their price was included in the charges of the builder. It was my first experience with them. I liked the selection that they had. They did good quality work. Their designers were helpful. I will use them again in the future.
