We had a problem: We had just used a different granite shop to install new countertops and a black granite composite sink. The granite turned out great, but the sink started scratching the very first time we used it. Within a few weeks, it was a mess of scratches. The installer refused to tell us the manufacturer of the sink he provided, and he refused to replace it unless we assumed responsibility for the plumbing labor and risk of damage to the kitchen. We knew this wasn't right - the guy sold us a cheap, defective sink and refused to make it right without us incurring additional expense/risk - so we started asking around.
Most of the installers we talked to agreed that the sink should not be scratching so easily, but weren't willing to help because they didn't want to get involved in a dispute with the other installer. Quality Granite and Marble helped us out.
There's a reason why QG&M has such a good reputation - they were professional and easy to work with. Joe came out, pried out the old sink, and replaced it with a Blanco black granite composite sink. We've already used it several times - and no scratches! The whole process took a couple of hours. Joe was courteous and worked fast. QG&M even recommended and helped coordinate a plumber who performed the disconnect and re-connect at a reasonable charge. In total, the biggest expense was the sink itself, but overall the charge was quite reasonable for the labor involved.
After the frustration we'd gone through with the other installer, QG&M was a refreshing experience. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to others.
And a final word of warning - if you do go with another installer, insist on a brand-name granite composite sink such as Blanco or Swanstone. They are definitely not all created equal!
The installers are entertaining as well as professional.
Their seems are as good as it gets.
We ran into an engineering issue when installing our bar that they helped us troubleshoot, make recommendations on who could help us fix the problem and sent their installers out a second time to get the work done with no up-charges!!
When you go to their shop to layout where the granite will lay in your house they have two people that are truly gifted at making the granite pop in the highlighted places in your project. It truly is an are taking a natural building material and accenting it's beauty by how you cut it to fit a given area. They are masters at this craft.
For one of our projects they worked with their wholesaler and had 5 sheets of granite shipped in for us to look at. If we didn't like them, they would just send them back or put them in inventory. That is solid customer service!
I can't say enough good about Quality Granite and will continue to use them as our house improvements warrant.
The only B I gave in this review was on price and I don't think I'd give an A to anyone because building supplies and materials have just gotten so expensive.
Overall it was a very satisfactory experience and I would consider using Quality Granite again when I do my bathroom countertops.
The cost was a little more than I wanted to pay but my son had used Quality Granite in the past so I went ahead with their quote.
The countertops are just gorgeous and I am very pleased with the workmanship!
My boss had their granite and marble installed by Quality in their new home 12 years ago and their granite cracked due to settling of their home. They heard we were having our granite installed by Quality and called them to fix their crack and a hole in their marble while they were in Western Kansas. Quality quickly fixed their crack and hole and if you did not know where the fix was you would never be able to find it.
I hope all of my remodeling projects go as smoothly as our experience with Quality Granite. We live in Garden City which is about 3.5 hours from Wichita and this was never an issue for Quality Granite.
I am delighted.
