We had Pella windows and doors installed throughout the house when it was built in 2002. Starting in 2013, we noticed many of the windows were rotting at the bottom to the point the windows were falling apart and couldn't be used. Unfortunately, the windows were out of warranty. We elected to individually replace the windows with Pella again as they deteriorated. In July 2016 we placed an order for 4 windows, Pella collected the full cost up front, and told us it would take 4 weeks for delivery. It took almost 7 weeks before they arrived and we scheduled to have immediate installation done by Pella. In the process of installing the windows, the technician dropped one sash on the pavement and badly damaged the aluminum cladding. The technician placed an order for a replacement sash at their cost, which took another 6 weeks before it arrived. Pella then scheduled with me to have the replacement sash installed, but the technician DID NOT show up at the scheduled time, nor did he or the company call to explain why or to reschedule. FOUR PHONE CALLS LATER I cannot get an answer as to when the replacement sash will be installed. I've spoken by phone with 4 different people at the local Pella office and each time they only say they'll look into it and call me right back. I sit for hours waiting on the call, but nobody ever follows up. At this point, I intend to contact my credit card issuer and dispute the charges due to defective installation and damaged materials, and Pella appears unwilling to resolve the matter.

Pella was very quick to send a representative out to give me a quote on 2 storm doors. The rep was on time and very courteous. The cost was much more than I wanted to spend but I thought that the brand would be worth it. However, the rest of my experience with Pella would leave me regretting my choice. I was assured the doors would arrive in 4 to 6 weeks (we had a major event at our home in 9 weeks so we needed the doors done by then) but it was 8 weeks later and we still hadn't been contacted for an install date. We called them and were told a) our doors were ready BUT there was a mistake and our doors were not painted as we requested. We could leave them white and have them installed in 2 weeks. I said I paid for them to be painted green and was told our doors aren't on the paint department's list and would have to be "squeezed into" their schedule. No apologies for their mistake and they wouldn't give my order priority because of their mistake. They said it takes one month for the paint to cure and they would install after that; this would make the project 6 weeks behind schedule. If we hadn't called to follow up, I'm not sure what would have happened.
After the doors were installed, we noticed on one of them that the metal door bottom was installed crooked, with a gap on one end big enough for a mouse to fit through. Upon closer inspection, one side had a screw missing. This seemed like very shoddy work. I bought another screw and fixed it myself.
Also, within the first month, one of the doors started slamming shut. I noticed a screw was missing from the door frame where it joined the door closer. The head of the screw had fallen off and was on the ground. Cheap, indeed! I adjusted the storm door closer and it worked for about a week. Then the other one stopped working. A handyman, who was here for another project, looked at it and said both door closers were shot and it would be best to go to the hardware store and buy replacements, which I did.

We had a real good experience with them. It wasn't cheap. They had to take all the wood out and stain the wood and put all the trim back in the inside. They did a really good job. There were a couple of places that they didn't stain really well and they came back and fixed it. They were very accommodating, which I appreciated. They were cheaper than another company for the same windows. It was a little cheaper so we felt we got a good price. They did the work while we were out of the country so we trusted them. The installation work is contracted out so I don't know if they use other contractors or not.

They used somebody else to install them. I still don't have a resolution on stuff they installed back in October so I'm not real happy with them right now. They put the wrong hardware color in and the insert was the wrong size. They have done it over 3 times and they can't get it right. I liked the windows when they were done. They were great windows but they don't respond very well on their service. The contract all depends on who you get. Most of the time it is good work but sometimes they hide things and don't do a complete job and I have to have them come back to redo things. The pricing was good. I will use them again only because I have the same windows in my house.

My interaction with them was excellent. They respond when they say they're going to. They're very timely, they send out the contractor and he has a detailed list of what he's to do. Their price is higher but you get what you pay for.

Door is great product. Installation went fast, well. Only glitch is our security door bell was disconnected and not reconnected. We were told we need to call security company to reattach wires so door dings when opening and closing like other doors.
