Integrity Siding & Windows

My wife and I decide and I decided to do a major renovation to the exterior of our house to address numerous issues, such as leaky windows, sagging/degrading siding, and gutters that were on their last legs.  After getting bids from Mid America Exteriors and Integrity Siding and Windows, LLC, we went with Integrity due to the competitive price (which was nearly $8,000 less than the bid from Mid America Exteriors and included more work).
Work started on the house a week before the Independence Day holiday and lasted approximately three weeks due to weather (rain and hot days) and other events outside the control of the contractor / installer.  The work included removing the old siding, putting on a new vapor barrier, adding insulating foam, and installing the new siding.  The crew also installed a new front door, a new storm door with improved security glass and a three point locking system, new casement windows for two bedrooms, new sliding widows for two basement windows, a new back sliding door, a new garden window for the kitchen, and new gutters, soffit, and fascia.  The team also put new trim around the windows we had replaced a few years prior to this remodel project so that all of the windows would have the same trim.
I was very impressed with the work done by the installer.  In total, he uncovered and corrected three problems that other installers had left behind:  1) We found that the sliding door that had been installed (and reinstalled) by All States Windows, Siding and Doors had been installed incorrectly, with several joints not being properly caulked where the door meets the metal sill plate.  This, in addition to the poor quality of the door, allowed for air leakage that made the back room of my home much warmer than the rest of the house in summer and much colder in the winter.  2) After removing the siding on the back of the house, the contractor found rotting wood under the windows that had been installed by Mid America Exteriors and covered over with new siding.  Several of the nails that were used to install the new siding where driven through the rotten wood, which caused the new siding to sag (frown).  Based the amount of damage, the Mid America Exteriors installers either did not seal around the windows properly, which lead to damage, or they new about the damage and covered it up rather than inform us of the problem.  And 3) the original builder of the house installed the front door with only 2-3 nails in the door frame.  For the most part, the old door was being held in place by the trim pieces.  The Integrity installers made us aware of all of these problems and corrected them during the course of their installations of the new products.  I was very happy with the results.
I would highly recommend Integrity Siding and Windows to anyone who is considering an exterior remodel.  They are highly competitive on price (partially because they rely on referrals and word of mouth to reach new customers), the quality of their work is excellent, and their installers were very professional.
