 + 0 moreThe auctioneer told me the auction he was putting on was going to attract lots of antique dealers because of a very large collection of glassware he was going to auction off. The auction was advertised as an "Antique" auction but when I brought my furniture to the auction house, I noticed a lot of much newer, not antique furniture. I don't know what happened but my antiques did not receive "fair" prices, even close to fair prices. They were given away!
Description of Work: I put antiques in this company's antique auction and received back garage sale prices. For example, a drop leaf Duncan Phyfe table with 4 leaves (very sturdy and in good shape) and 4 carved Rose back dining chairs with needlepoint seats (in excellent condition) all together went for $85.00! This is even lower than garage sale prices! These items would have been a steal for $500! A large secretary with glass doors on the top went for $190. This is the most I received for any item. The secretary was very old and unusual and should have gone for more. I put other tables, chairs, secretaries, hutch, and quilts in the sale and received very small amounts of money for all of them. Since these were all antiques and in very good condition, I did not expect to get such small amounts of money for them.
