The heat pump has been a disturbance since it was first turned on. The primary recirculating pump is causing my entire house to vibrate and is very noisy. We actually flip the breakers off whenever we have guests to avoid embarrassment. This was brought to their attention before we moved in March 2014, and the installing contractor replaced the original pump, but the new one was no better. I called Luke the week before Thanksgiving and he had the contractor contact me. I was told that he would do his best to get it resolved before the holiday, but it would most likely be the following week. That time has past and I haven't heard a word. We are now into the fourth week since initiating the latest complaint. The heat pump works well and is very inexpensive, but my house is noisy 24/7.

Sales presentation inspired confidence in us. Sales rep was knowledgable and friendly and genuinely wanted to save us money through rebates and tax breaks. Helped out greatly with financing options. Having said that, they did have to return to fix a problem that could have been eliminated thru communication and I felt their clean-up was lacking in detail. Beyond that, I have/and would recommend them highly.

My contact with Fenix was via Luke Parthemer. We scheduled an initial estimate based upon what I asked for and what I understood my requirements to be at the time. He was punctual and professional. He listened to what I was interested in and did not attempt an upsell. He did provide a lot of information on the product line Fenix was selling. I did four different competing
estimates, then I went back to Luke, and asked him to look at upgrading the equipment options I had considered in four different configurations. Luke came back out, and revised the estimate for the equipment I was most interested in (new PVC pipes were required). It was then that I asked if he could move our thermostat location to a new wall and he did a quick look and verified that the installation crew could. I noticed the estimated price hadn't changed even though moving the thermostat wasn't a non-trivial change to the amount of work. I made sure Luke was aware of this and he said it still did not change the
estimate. I then had to put a three week hold on the plans due to outside factors. This proved to be no issue, and I also lined up financing for the installation.
The estimated time for the installation process was 1.5 - 2 days. The installation crew arrived punctually, and began laying floor covers and scoping the work area. Luke also arrived and made sure everything was running smoothly. I made sure everything was acceptable and made myself scarce. I'd check every couple of hours and see if there were issues, and work
proceeded smoothly. Less than five hours after starting, the thermostat was installed in it's new position, and the new A/C was installed with the MERV 16 filter box. Work proceeded on the furnace installation. The whole installation was complete by 5:30 pm. I had to link the thermostat to my Wi-Fi due to the network's specific settings, but those are security related, so it was no
problem to do. Other than that, upon completion of the furnace installation, the installation crew demonstrated the furnace function, and then began clean up and showed me the instructions for operating and maintaining the new system.
They asked if I had questions, then walked me around to show all the changes to my home caused by the installation. I was satisfied with the work done, and everything functioned as expected. After the installation crew left with the old HVAC equipment, I experimented with the settings and function of the new A/C system and was very pleased. Luke called the next day to see how things were, and I expressed my overall satisfaction. Additionally, I was able to delay completing payment a day for more favorable terms with my finance institution.
The new system works flawlessly. It is far more quiet than the system it replaced. The filter system has already had a significant impact on air quality throughout the house. I have also been able to use the new fan to keep the house cool at night by simply recirculating my cool basement air to the upstairs. Previously the old system would come on and off all night, with the loud compressor waking me up periodically. Even if the compressor of this new system is going, I can't hear it and it is a variable compressor, so it only uses as much energy as needed to fulfill the thermostat target temperature. In summation, it is quite evident this new system will save quite a bit on my electric bill both through being more efficient in operation, and limiting the need for using the compressor via recirculating cool air when it is optimal. Additionally, with my allergies, I have had to use my allergy medications far less than I had previously, no doubt thanks to the new MERV 16 filter element which is excellent.
It sounds ironic, but I am actually eager to see next month's electric bill. I expect the daily
energy usage rate will drop significantly.
Itemized list of
Fenix Pros:
Lowest priced estimate of three different contractors rated A and one rated a B on Angie's list.
Highest S.E.E.R. and E.E.R. rated installation of all competing estimates done for my home.
Received five different estimates within a one week period from Luke within a day of asking each time.
Estimate for installation did not change when I asked for a significant alteration (new thermostat location).
Received system installation S.E.E.R. and E.E.R. certification for Energy Tax credit before installation.
Installation took less time than estimated.
System works as good as advertised.
Installation cost was per estimate.
Received web discount to further reduce cost.
Using Fenix saved at least two thousand dollars from the next closest estimate for a system that would be less efficient (on paper).
Itemized list of Fenix Cons:
None I can think of.
Summation:
Prior to choosing Fenix, I did a lot of research on brands and installers. I would definitely use Fenix again, and would recommend them for any installation of heating or air conditioning based on their professionalism, cost, flexibility, and line of products (Lennox).

It was fine. The service guy misquoted me a lower price than what the company wanted which led me to get other estimates.

They have great service. They messed up the install, and when I called them about it they came out right away to fix it.

I have never had an annual maintenance performed on my air conditioner in the past 6 years. I do not know how old the unit is. I did have a problem with the unit last year breaking down, so maybe the price I paid wasn't too much. I don't have much knowledge to compare my experience with. My unit had a leak and needed 2 pounds of freon added, which cost $180. The employee replaced my screw on top for free. The cap was the cause of the leak, but he mentioned a different type of cap was recommended. I asked for it, but he said he didn't have any with him. He had extra used caps and used one of those on my unit. He did mention the coils were freezing and he said he resolved that problem.
Overall I believe everything went fine. He was very professional. I don't remember it taking too long, although I don't remember just how long. He showed up on time and called prior to the visit..

I continue using this company because they originally installed our HVAC unit. We have had to call them a couple of times after hours when our air conditioner went out. They were extremely responsive and had it fixed within an hour. I will use them again in the future.

1. Our contact at with the FENIX Company, 802 West 2nd Street, Wichita, KS 67203, was Luke Parthemer.
2. We dealt with Luke from his initial visit following our first phone call to the business. This included our time with him when he gathered the information about what we were planning on doing to our meeting with Luke when he detailed the proposal for the purchase of the Central Air and Heating System.
3. We had received three proposals, and neither of the other two came remotely close to getting our attention and subsequent approval.
4. Our entire experience with Luke and the employees of FENIX who installed our system was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience in every regard.
5. We are still pleased with our acquisition.

They were one of the sub contractors of the service provider that put an addition on our house and I am not sure as to how much they played a part in the price. They were here when they were supposed to be. I would probably use them again the in future.

Very friendly staff, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They offered to go above and beyond what the other companies offered to to. We needed a couple of extra cold air return vents cut out and they included this in the job without charging us extra. The job was top notch from beginning to end.
