Excellent. Casey and crew were here about 2.5 days. Answered all my questions and removed shrubs/trees in the order I desired. A number of neighbors are now asking about them due to the excellent job they did.

This was great! They kept to their schedule and price. They cleaned up well after themselves and they seemed to be very knowledgeable. They did a good job.

Then to have trunk and exposed roots from removed tree ground down 6 inches below ground. Tree one was trimmed. Tree 2 was cut down shredded and they offered to leave 8 feet of the trunk cut into 2 foot sections approximately 28 inch diameter. When explained what was agreed to was the limbs were to be cut into 15 to 18 inch lengths the man sent to do the work said I must have misunderstood about the firewood. Advised it was in writing he said he didn't have time to spend cutting it up. He then took the remaining trunk also. Two days later another man showed up to grind the stump. After working for awhile grinding and raking up the grindings he loading his equipment and left with no conversation. Upon later examination the stump and roots are about 2 inches above ground when the remaining saw dust was cleaned up.

I called in the middle of June for some difficult-to-remove trees, and got a quote, which was the best by a wide margin (yes, I'm takling to YOU, Ryan Tree Service, under all your dba's), and he said he couldn't get to me till the middle of July. Then it stormed and trees were getting knocked down all over, so when he didn't make it by the end of the month, I figured he was busy with emergencies. I went on vacation, got back, and it still wasn't done, so I left a VERY NICE voicemail making sure I hadn't slipped through the cracks, and they were out a day later. Trees gone.

In the past I had used tree service people (who called themselves and quot;arboristsand quot;) who came past the house saying they were in the area working and they could get me away. In general, they just cut away with what looked like little thought.
I called the County Extension office to ask them for a referral to a service that were really arborists and just just a company that put arborist in their ads.
The person I spoke to didn't have a reference, but then she asked someone in the office who the extension office used for their trees She got the answer that they always used Ernstman, and that was good enough for me.
I called and set up an appointment for the next day. The appointment was kept, to the minute. I got the estimate, which seemed reasonable, and told him go ahead and schedule me. He said it would be in 5 days, and I I said that would be fine. And then he showed up the next morning and got the work done in less than half a day.
He did the work we had agreed on and cleaned up all of the limbs, leaves, etc. that he had brought down, leaving my yard immaculate.
And now my trees look great!
