Erhard Roofing and Repairs

They were just wonderful. They were in my area when I contacted them and came right by on their way home to take care of me. It was right around Christmas time so I really appreciated them being willing to take care of it right away. They were able to quickly assess the problem and fix it without turning it into a major job. They were also one of the few companies who actually called me back.

It did take a year to complete the replacement of my roof. We had several issues with this company regarding scheduling, but I do knowledge that they were experiencing personnel difficulties. Our finished product was good and looks beautiful and works to our expectations (it doesn't leak).

Overall the project went well. However, we would have liked more communication from the company. From contract signing to project end, the project took six months to complete. The roofing work (tear off old roof, tear off and replace decking, install new shingles) took just two days, but the rest of the work took much longer due to weather, supplies, and other contractor availability. At times it seemed that we were low on their priority, but otherwise we are pleased with their work and the completed project.

My experience was average using them. They did what they were supposed to do. The owner spoke with my husband about the roof and then he had a crew that came in to do the job. It took about a week to complete the new roof.

I thought good but seems I was wrong. I have a leak and cannot get them to come back. I had a leak in the same place before the new roof and the ceiling was stained. I remodeled in December and repainted the ceiling. it is now leaking. in the same place. I spoke with the owner and he said he would come out over two weeks ago. I haven't seen him yet.

The crew came after most other workers would have gone home for the day. They cleared the ice and swept snow off the roof in addition to clearing up some leaves that had gathered in an unreachable spot.

I really wanted to write a good review, my experience was such a mixed bag that I had initially decided to just not write one...but Angie keeps nagging me and I feel like I should share....
First of all, let me say that the actual work performed seems to be of good quality, my roof and gutters and paint show no problems here a year after the fact. So that counts for alot. However...
The initial contact person for Erhard here in Wichita reportedly had some sort of major medical crisis sometime shortly after his site visit here. A couple of weeks or more went by and I had to call them to get the ball rolling again. Michael, who took over as my contact person turned out to be not the greatest communicator, but eventually between him and Greg Bequette, the work was scheduled. The non-English speaking roofers showed up and as far as I could tell did fine, quick work. The gutter guys then came out and that went fine also. Michael decided he was going to dp the painting himself, and scraped my window frames down to bare wood in places, in prep for the repainting. Trouble is, he never showed back up to do the actual painting. Weeks went by as winter approached.
Finally, I think I got a call from Ron Erhard inquiring about my insurance money status, and scheduling of final payment. I told him about the job not being done, and he seemed genuinely surprised. Greg Bequette kind of took over as my full time contact,
and got painters out to finish the job, they did great. I was told Michael was no longer with the company.
So finally, after months had passed since initial contact, I finally had my new roof, guttering, and painting done. Ron Erhard came to my house to settle up, and it ended up they actually owed me $166.50. I told him they could send me a check. A long time passed, I think I had to email about it, but I finally got my check. Trouble is, it bounced. Twice. So Greg Bequette said they would send me another check, I told him to make sure and wait until we were sure it wouldn't bounce. That's the last I ever heard from them. I pretty much gave up at that point, figuring $166.50 wasn't that big a deal after a $14,000 plus repair. Eventually I tried emailing the lady who cuts the checks, and we tried calling the main Kansas City office at least once, and no one picked up the phone, and no voice mail or answering machine. So I gave up again of ever seeing that refund.
Believe it or not, this is the short version of my experience. Ron Erhard and Greg Bequette seemed like nice well meaning guys, and I did eventually get a good roof, gutters, and paint job. It took months, but it did get done. Still, I can't help but think this is not the way things are supposed to go.

Very pleased with their work, and they even came to do the work a day earlier than planned as it was calling for rain on the scheduled day.
