Drywall Dimensions

Andy Tangis (proprietor of Drywall Dimensions and Remodelling, LLC) and his merry men did a fine job on a very difficult custom floor. The floor design is polished Emerald Pearl granite tile set "on point" (that is, laid in diagonal rows) and with an inset oak border that was required to match other trim already in the room. Before I got in touch with Andy seven - count 'em, seven - local and regional contractors turned down the job. They said it was too hard, that the site was too remote, that it was not appropriate to a rural residence, that it would cost too much, that it was too labor-intensive, that it would be too heavy, that it'd create a slip/fall hazard, that I'd change my mind before it was done, etc. Two were really honest and just told me their skill level was not up to it. One - just one (Farha's) - sent me a sensible estimate but regretted that they were booked for several months ahead. Seven frustrating months into trying to get this project moving I was referred to Andy, and after he made very sure he understood the design and my expectations and also after inspecting the room to receive the new floor and its floor structure carefully, he took it on. Andy's planning was meticulous. He took great pains to make sure he understood exactly what was expected and that he had a plan for the job that would ensure smoothly accomplished success before he laid a tile. He LISTENS to the customer and he GETS IT and he understands the planning and administration of a project as well as being an accomplished craftsmen himself. He planned that floor almost tile by tile. Once all was in readiness he and his merry men descended on my living room and made short work of this "impossible" floor. They used first-quality materials at every turn and paid great attention to details. The job was completed on time and on budget and all in all it went down like he'd been doing floors just like it for about five hundred years. And if you want to see how nice the finished floor looks, well, spend a little time drooling over the photos I'll post. The work crew from Drywall Dimensions were courteous, professional, industrious, meticulous, and highly skilled as well as being just plain nice folks. After the job was completed their cleanup was absolutely meticulous. I didn't have to do ANYTHING behind them. I've spent almost a year fixing up and updating this house; of all the people who've worked on this long and painful project Andy's crew stands out as one of just two teams who have truly excelled. All but one of the crews who've been out here did good work, but Andy delighted me. This is a small company that deserves to go far, and I wish Andy and his crew success and prosperity and joy in knowing that they helped create for me a thing of great beauty that others were afraid to attempt.
