AMERICAN TREE SPECIALIST

I gathered a few bids for our tree removal. One was for $200 to kill the trees, cut them to the ground, then remove the debris. We really wanted the stumps GONE so we checked around some more. After receiving our bid from American Tree Specialist, it took about 1 week and 2 telephone calls to finally get a hold of someone to schedule the work. The bid was over twice as much as some other companies but since they were going to actually grind the stumps we went ahead and chose them for the job. The work started in just a few days and I was very please it was getting done so quickly. The 2 workers were here for approximately 2 hours cutting down the trees and hauling things away. When they were "done" with the stump grinder, it ended up falling down the hill into our iron fence which is now bent due to the machine. The work appeared to be done, and after my husband helped them remove their equipment, we were happy to finally have the work done.
1 week after the job, while mowing, I noticed several stumps that had not been removed - we counted 23 at the time. My husband made several attempts to contact the company, at least once a week, whether by actually talking to someone or leaving a message. They were very apologetic during the first phone call, even unaware of the fence damage. She said she would call me to re-schedule a time to come finish the job. Asked if the fence needed repair and my husband said as long as the original job gets completed all will be ok. 
It has now been 6 weeks since the job first started. We have counted approximately 30 stumps still there, most of the trees are beginning to grow back and some are even 2ft tall by now. My husband's attempt to contact someone last week was followed by "we'll call to schedule". That never happened, so he called again this week, left a voice mail, and we have not heard from anyone since.
 If the job had been completed the price wouldn't have been an issue at all. Since the job was NOT completed, I feel cheated having had paid over twice the amount as some other company would have charged me to do even more work.
When I first met with the 2 people that gave us the bid I had very high hopes and thought we'd finally found a great company that we could use for ALL our tree/shrub work but this has been very unprofessional to say the least.

We had two jobs we needed done and received bids for each job. They had a fast response time to inspect the jobs and submit the bid. They were knowledgeable and very helpful when I spoke to them about what I wanted done. Their bid was in a mid range out of the 8 bids I received for the jobs. they were very prompt after being hired, did a little extra work for me for a minimum charge, were clean and well organized. I would definitely hire this organization to do work for me again.
The only drawback as tree trimmers is they are climbers and do not have a bucket truck and therefore cannot do some types of trimming or removing. One of the jobs I hads them bid on was a dead cottonwood and they were unable to cut & remove it (due to safety issues) after starting due to how brittle cottonwoods get after being dead. They recommended hiring someone with a bucket truck. However they did not charge me for any of the work they had done on the cottonwood and were upfront about not wanting to finish due to safety issues.
