Matt Wichert Construction

Matt was incredibly helpful to us in suggesting options for deck design, flooring materials, stiles, railings, and colors for all parts of the deck.  He explained the pros and cons of natural vs man-made deck flooring, cost comparisons and life expectancy for each, and maintenance and upkeep required for each.  Very detailed in preparation of his presentation, anticipating questions we might ask and had the answers or got them very quickly. 
Matt also explained different building options we had (4x4 vs 6x6 support posts) and the various costs of each, etc.  We ultimately chose man-made deck flooring and stained redwood for the rails and posts.  Matt consulted with us at each step of the project to make sure it was going as we expected. He made several trips to the paint store and stained redwood rail sections beforehand, adjusting and tweaking the color mix so we could compare choices and get the exact color we wanted for the deck rails. 
The end result of the finished deck is beautiful, and we are extremely satisfied with his work, with the time it took to finish the project, and the cost.  Matt also added in a couple of small repairs (adjusting door to close better, replacing door sill, and repairing outside outlet that didn't work) for no additional charge.
We are extremely pleased with his work, his honesty and ethics, and his prices.  It is obvious that Matt not only does his homework for each individual client but has the knowledge and experience to back it up.  We have already scheduled him for our next project which will be a master bath remodel.

We hired Mr. Wichert previously to do a small siding repair.  His grandparents and parents were also in home building/remodeling business and we knew of him through them.  He did an excellent job the first time, so we hired him for this considerably larger job. 
Our home has Masonite siding which tends to degrade over time, and we discovered that it had not been properly applied to the structure initially which contributed to it rotting out.  Mr. Wichert installed the new siding with proper techniques, and he also made some design suggestions which considerably improved the look of the front of the house.  He replaced all of the siding that needed fixing, and painted the entire house for us. 
He also found some additional problems during the repair procedures and notified us of them and the projected additional cost for our approval before following through with them. 
During the work, he also found an additional area that needed repair but he did not charge us for it -- he said he missed it on the initial inspection and therefore would absorb the cost himself. 
The team of workers were considerate and friendly, as well.  We are absolutely delighted with the finished work. 
Mr. Wichert prepared the estimate and contract for us before beginning any work.  He requested partial payment twice during the process to cover cost of materials, and waited until the project was completed to his and our satisfaction before requesting payment of the final balance due.
We will definitely use him for future projects -- replacing the deck next spring and also remodeling our kitchen.
