That is who installed the heating and air conditioning unit that was fairly new when we purchased this house so we just continued to use them and we are very satisfied. I have no idea (of the price). I guess to me it was a good price. They might be more expensive than everybody else, though, you know what I mean? They are friendly.
I called Blue Dot around 9:30AM. I knew they did interior plumbing but did not know if they also handled exterior excvation. The receptionist was very helpful and they dispatched a serviceman right away. He arrived about 10:30. He determined that it did appear to be a broken main line where the pipe comes into the house. Blue Dot's backhoe equipment was tied up at another site, so Blue Dot arranged to have him and another serviceman manually dig up and repair the line.
It was about 20% outside and windy, so not pleasant working conditions. They dug out an area about 4' by 3' and about 4' deep. Repaired the line and also upgraded the piping into the house - used a material that is stronger and better able to handle settling. They also replaced the interior main shut-off valve which was 20 years old and somewhat rusted.
We had water service again by 3:45PM.
They were very professional, cleaned up the work site, and I think an acceptable cost for the work that was done.
"[Member name removed] has been has been a good customer for years, and it is unfortunate that we were unable to resolve this differently. In response, we did in fact reschedule [member name removed] appts 2 times, but we did call each time. At the same time, [member name removed] called and rescheduled several times. One of our owners, Von did go and perform an energy audit and Rex was following up to schedule the repairs. His department was short handed and that is where the confusion began. [member name removed] was scheduled for annual maintenance in November, but when he called on October 18th and stated he had no heat, Rayleen (our dispatcher) worked frantically to move his appointment up and get him on the schedule that day. She sent Natin (one of our senior techs who have been with Blue Dot since 2002) to take care of [member name removed]. Natin replaced the capacitor, found the gas valve was not working consistently and the bearings in motor were loose. [member name removed] system was installed in 2002 and parts do start wearing out. Natin gave him the recommendations and [member name removed] chose to get second opinion. He also refused to pay at time of service. Natin came back to shop and we billed customer for service call, diagnostic, filter that was replaced and capacitor that was replaced. [member name removed] mailed check for everything but capacitor -denying that it was replaced. Again, note that we were out on a no heat call and there was a reason. Rayleen (feeling that she had a good relationship with [member name removed] up until this point) called and asked about payment for capacitor. [member name removed] said he was getting second opinion and if we did in fact change the capacitor he would pay for it. He called back later that day and spoke with our other dispatcher and wanted her to relay to Rayleen that he apologized and the other company did find a new generic capacitor on unit and he would be sending check for it. After that we recieved this complaint on Angie' List. Evidently, the technician Natin had been correct about gas valve, but in the other companies opinion motor was good. Natin was out on preventative maintenance and gave recommendations for this unit. What he was trying to prevent is this motor going out at an inconvenient time and customer to be without heat when it is 10 below zero and he will be charged overtime or holiday rates.
