She was very candid with me about when KAL could come out and wanted to make sure that worked for me. When Brad came out, he was friendly, fast and efficient in diagnosing the problem, discussing the most cost effective and long-term fix and then making it all come together. He is an excellent problem solver and he definitely wants to make your situation come together in a responsible, well-thought out approach. Within a short time he had the lights working in concert with the new timer and made very sure we got all of our questions answered. Thanks, Brad!!! My doorbell hasn't worked in a longtime, in fact the actual button wasn't even there anymore. Before he even knocked, Brad was checking out the doorbell. Had not even met me before he started working! When the day came to do the work, 3 very nice & polite gentlemen showed up -again on time! These guys were just AWESOME! They explained everything, cleaned up after themselves & made sure I was happy throughout the entire process. I feel that I got what I paid for in every way. When I need electrical work again, I won't even need Angie's List! I know EXACTLY who I am going to call!
Description of Work: I had raccoon & squirrel damage in the attic. They had to replace almost every thing up there - in the blazing hot July summer!

 + -1 moreI wanted to surprise my daughter and son-in-law by changing out a can light above their kitchen sink. They bought a fixture for it several months ago, but found out the can converter they bought with it was more challenging than they thought, so it all sat around gathering dust. While they were out of town celebrating their first anniversary I contacted KAL and set up an appointment to have the fixture installed. KAL came highly recommended by someone I trust and Brad did the job right. I would definitely use this company again :

 + -1 moreAs Brad was removing the light fixtures in the ceiling a dead (thank goodness) mouse fell out of the opening. He did NOT scream like a girl. I did not see the mouse but it had been deceased for a very long time. Brad put it in the trash for me. Thank you Brad.
Description of Work: Brad, the owner was running early, so he called to make sure that it would be okay if he arrived about 30 minutes early - I appreciated that. I had a fluorescent light fixture in my sewing room that had several problems - it needed a new ballast , the wall switch didn't work half the time. I had two workshop type fluorescent light fixtures in a basement room that had been finished at one time and used as a bedroom. The workshop type fluorescent had been installed in the ceiling and hard wired. Wooden frames had then been built around the fixtures . Plastic filter/screens had been put inside the wooden frames to make it look better. Now these bulbs were completely inside the frame making them really impossible to replace. Brad took the frames and light fixtures down and installed regular light fixxtures. He also installed (2) GFCI receptacles in the bathroom.

Brad returned immediately when called and spent two to three hours of his time troubleshooting. Fixed the problem with no additional charge. We were impressed!

 + -1 moreAfter I submitted my request, the office called me the very next day and setup for Brad to come by and give me an estimate. Brad was actually a little early which was fine and he explained to me a couple different options regarding having an electrical outlet for my sump pump. On the day of service, Brad was agina early which I liked and he went right to work and did an excellent job with the elctrical outlet. Could not have asked for a better job. He also hung the alarm for my sump pump on the wall which was above and beyond. Very professional and cost was reasonable. Would call again.

They took care of all the other items on their original trip without a hitch. I was very pleased with their workmanship and my wife was very pleased with their professionalism, since she was the one at home when they worked.
Description of Work: I called them because of their good ratings with Angie's customers. My attic fan was misbehaving and I had several smaller electrical switches that needed attention. In addition, we wanted to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom. They came and inspected our ancient attic fan and made recommendations. They repaired two 3-way switches and replaced my disposal switch. They installed the ceiling fan I had bought.

 + -1 moreGreat experience from start to finish. They were on-time and called prior to coming to make sure we were home and it was OK to come out. I work from home and when they came I was busy with a client call. They quietly came into the house and worked quietly (even though I didn't ask them to, they just did it). They were very courteous and efficient in their work. They completely cleaned everything up and verified the work was done to my satisfaction. We have hired two other electricians in the past and in both cases there was damage or work done improperly so I am very pleased to find an electrician company that does great and professional work
Description of Work: Installed one floor electrical outlet in the living room and installed a cable video outlet. Our basement is finished with drywall ceilings so there was a bit more work to run the wires for these outlets. They also reset a box for our stove that another electrician had not installed properly.

 + -1 moreIt went well. All the work took 2 days to do. Brad did a fine job and was personable while working. He was willing to do little extra things to make sure the job was done right and that we were happy with it. He made the lights dimmable which was also very nice.
Description of Work: I had under and over cabinet lighting installed, and a can light installed over the kitchen sink, and 3 new outlets installed, a 220 line run for a hot tub, a high pressure sodium light installed on a barn, wiring for an outside light added at a door, 2 new GFCI outlets installed, the switch for the disposal was moved, and a 2-way switch was repaired.

When they were done I was amazed how good the rooms looked. I also threw them a curve when they arrived. I had developed a short in a bedroom cable TV and power outlet. They took it on as a personal challenge and figured it out and fixed what could have been a dangerous problem. They went above and beyond my expectations. Can't wait to find something for them to do again.

 + 1 moreThe service upgrade was done in one day, December 28. The trench (which was to be done the next day) was delayed due to all the snow and then rain. Once it was started in April it took one day. The installation of the additional lines, lighting, and fans, was completed in one day as part of our three season room project. Brad and Monique couldn't have been nicer and more helpful during all the delays (due to weather) in getting our trench dug. Mike and his crew were also great when we decided to add an additional 3 lines/outlets in our three season room. We had a minor problem with a bad switch to the fans which Brad came out immediately and fixed. The new service panel is wonderful and gives us peace of mind knowing our electrical is up to date. All of the work they perfomed was fabulous.
Description of Work: Kal Electric upgraded our existing 100 amp service to 200 amp back in December. They also dug a trench in order for our powerline to be buried. However, this work did not get started until April 2010 due to our snowy winter and rainy spring. Kal also ran 7 new lines and outlets into our "new" three season room (converted from an existing sreened in porch). They installed lighting in and under the porch/room and installed 2 (owner provided) ceiling fans in the room. (The cost of four of the lines and installation of the lights and fans were not included in the above project cost as they were included in the three season room project.)
