I see them a lot because my pet has asthma. I think their pricing is very good. They treat the animals very well, and they are very conscientious about the way they treat the animals. I take the cat in emergency mode most of the times, because she has severe asthma. They take me in right away when I tell them that it is an emergency. The people are very friendly, knowledgeable about animals, they are kind and considerate.

I brought my cat in for an examination of new symptoms and a second opinion on an already diagnosed condition. Dr. Skivers examined the data for the already diagnosed conditions and confirmed that the treatment he was receiving was correct and indicated. We talked about the new symptoms and discussed what actions would be most appropriate considering the cats age and already existing conditions. We spent a long time discussing my cat;s medical history and laboratory findings as well as his own examination findings and came up with what we thought would be the best action for my cat's well being. One of the originally diagnosed conditions was inflammatory bowel disease, and he was on a prescription diet for that. Lately he seemed to have trouble eating and even swallowing the food and sometimes vomited - it seemed to irritate his esophagus and stomach.
For a start, we changed his dry prescription food to canned, which he loved and tolerated well. He felt that an endoscopy might be indicated it the change in diet did not help.
Even though my cat died very shortly after my visit, he died peacefully and naturally, while laying on the couch with me as we did every night, without intervention that may have caused him a lot of prolonged treatment, side-effects or pain.
I had used Dr. Skivers once before in an emergency situation, when my own Vet was not available, and I was very much impressed with him and his wife both. Since that was on a weekend, they even took the cat home to keep an eye on him.
They are both very compassionate and caring professionals.
