TruGreen Lawn Care - 5600

Please don’t hire them to do anything for you. I paid for a full year of service back in April. After months of calling and demanding service they finally serviced my yard in late July. Was just informed by trugreen they are refunding me because “I got to good of a deal”. Customer service is terrible and not even worth calling or dealing with. Please please go elsewhere

Over sprayed, killed grass in spots, service was not to any standard.

It's fine. I currently get lawn service from them. It's working out okay. I have it automatically billed to my credit card. It's somewhere around $70, I think. The liquid application, I do not think, lasts as long as the granular. Because they use the liquid, they're out more often. Over a length of period of time, the application cost might be a little bit cheaper, but there's more applications per year, so it's more expensive. They respond quickly. If you're unhappy with something they try to make it right.?This is into the second year. I will probably continue to use them for the second year. I would possibly consider renewing with them, we'll see at the end of the year.

Signed up for the service in April, 2015. Everything seemed to be going fine until I started seeing a bunch of ragweed and other weeds that have not seen years past. I gave it a few weeks after pre emergent weed control and it got worse. I called and requested a tech be sent out. Tech came out but I noticed on my service ticket that 0oz of chemicals were sprayed. I called and asked what was performed and was told they just went out to verify but didn't spray. I then asked for a rep to come out again and spray. A few hours later I was called by the local rep to talk through my issue. Upon talking to him I learned that in Aug, 2015 that only the front was being treated and the back was no longer part of the plan. I paid the same price April through Oct and paid for aeration but Aug, Sept, Oct, and Aeration was only performed on the front. The local rep informed me he would change by sqft to make sure the back was being done but to call customer service to find out why and to get a refund. I called and requested a credit. Was told that I was owed more then $100 in credit and the local manager needs to approve that and he would call me in 3 days. 3 days came and went with no phone call. Called back and asked why I have not heard from the local rep. Was told to wait 24 hours and to call back if I had not heard back. Waited 24 hours and still no phone call. Called the following morning and asked what was going on and they assured me if I didn't get a phone call by late afternoon to call back. Well.... You guessed it I had to call back. Same response they can't give me a credit but offered half off my next service..... At that point the company lost my interest and my trust so I canceled. At no point was I even offered close to what I was owed due to only treating not even half of the yard for 3 months. Worst customer service, rude agents, and poor management on local account. The only thing I'm left with is a backyard that is getting hard to manage due to the fact that no pre emergent weed control was put down early in the spring. I got a call from a local rep on 5/4 saying I see you have had our service in the past and was wondering if I wanted to sign up again this season. After explaining to him my situation, he ensured me he was going to talk with his manager and give me a call back that day. Well, I was never called back. Which brings me to today, 5/11/16 after trying to get a refund for work that wasn't performed. I was told that my original quote was for the front only but they did the backyard as a courtesy the first couple times but then went back to only doing the front only. Buyer beware, this is a bait and switch Tactic to get you to sign up for the service but will not inform you that is why they had lower the price. I would recommend anyone getting the service to make sure that the "promotional" rate they are giving you is good for the season or for the life of the service and to ensure they it is the full lawn.

They do fertilizing. We are happy with them.

Even though we had a lot of rain and the recent times that they came out it rained shortly after they did come out but I still have weeds and my neighbors have a different lawn and they seem to not have the problem that I have. I'm probably going to have to redo my contract with them. I'm never here so there has been only one time when I called them because they came right after it rained and it took a few weeks for them to come back out and respray my yard. So their promptness probably wasn't the best response. I think if they knew that it was raining within an hour after spraying they should have just automatically come back. I know it has been hard, it has been raining quite a bit and I think they should have either not have treated the yard and waited and that may have meant that they would have gotten time and again. They are very punctual on their schedule.

I had True Green last summer.  Here is why I gave them one star: 
Member Comments: 1- When they were selling me the service, they claimed that unlike other companies, their application is liquid and not granular which supposed to be more effective.  That was only true for the first application, the rest is no different.
2- When they started, they normally left a flag in the yard with a piece of paper that describes what was applied.  The last two applications, they did not leave any paper or flag to indicate what they applied.
3- I called the company and brought it to their attention that no flag or paper work was left. They said they will send somebody to make those two applications within one week period to our lawn.  I inquired if it is ok only one week where normally it is 4 - 6 weeks, they said it is ok.  Of course they never came.
4- The bill for the last two (supposedly applications) was sent to collection agency, I called again just to find out they never came back again as they claimed.   I paid them and closed the account just to avoid the headache.  You would think that having a company to care for your lawn and pay them a lot of money will give you a piece of mind, true green proved the opposite.
No wonder they received so many negative feedback.  Contractor have to make people really upset or really happy to make them write a review, TruGreen made so many people unhappy.

We have been very happy with their service. We have been using them for about 4-5 months. They also call you the day before they are coming and leave the bill on the door. They are nice and do a good job. They come every month for about 9 months.

TruGreen responded to my initial online request very promptly. The representative was courteous and professional. They arrived on time and applied the application. My only complaint is that the weeds are still there. The lawn is green so the fertilizer worked great but the weed control not so much. Dandelions are gone but clover is taking over the yard.

I've used TruGreen for years ... probably 6 or 7 seasons. The 2012 season, I noticed their treatments were less than satisfactory. Then, in 2013 - I called to cancel my service for the year because I was planning on overseeding the lawn in the spring. They went ahead & treated despite my cancellation. It took a couple of weeks to get ahold of anyone, and they did come out and seed a portion of my front lawn. It grew for about a month and then died off again. Plus, I would've thought that someone from the office would've called to see if I was pleased so they could renew my contract. But I never heard from anyone. About a month later, I started receiving the corporate marketing pieces giving me a discount for my first treatment. Almost all of my neighbors used to use TruGreen, but I was the last remaining one on my street. Now no one on our street does.

On several instances I was told they would be out to service the lawn. Both times I got a call after 8pm stating that there had been various issues with their schedules that day and that they wouldn't be out.
Half of the lawn in my backyard has died. When I asked them to come out and let me know what had caused this, they came out and assessed that I needed to re-seed that area. I clearly know that, but was looking for more of a diagnosis as to why this had occurred.
My experience has been that they are unreliable and not helpful. They continue to call and try to upsell me on other lawn treatments, which to me is a joke considering the service that I have received with my basic service. I have called several times to complain. The corporate office has apologized and a local supervisor did as well. They promised to re-seed for me this fall. We'll see if they follow through. I have my doubts.
I have used them for years without issue, but this year my experience has been terrible.

For the most part, TruGreen have done a good job. I've only had one problem with them and they tried to rectify that. I have never seen them because I work, but they leave detailed notes about what they've done and what I need to do to maintain it. They leave a little stick in my yard so that I know they've come.

When they show up, it's great, but why hassle with yard service, too many to choose from. Cost effective too, just not responsive to my calls.

We used them for years, but the last couple of years our yard just got worse and worse. They were responsive to us, but we will not use them again.

They do what they tell me they are going to do. Their prices are reasonable. They are very professional.

My lawn looked good while true green was servicing it. However, I really dislike the way this company does business. I signed up initially to get (I think) four treatments a year. Then they start calling constantly trying to get you to do extra services. When you do agree to an extra service, it becomes part of your "plan". This meant that on subsequent years, I had someone just show up to my house to do this extra service with no call to ask if I wanted it. If I hadn't been home to tell them I didn't want it, it would have just been done and I would have billed for it.
I called to complain about this and was told that at the beginning if year they send out letters to everyone detailing what services you got the year before and if you don't want one of those again, you have to call them and opt out of that particular thing. I will grant you, they had a manager call me and try to make me happy and offer discounts, etc but i just didn't want to deal with a company that worked this way. I didn't want to have watch my mail until something came to make sure I didn't get unwanted services. What a pain.

The service was not as good as I expected.

My experience went well. They are always after you to get your service done. One of the things we don't like is they can be very pushy sometimes. I am not as interested in having a beautiful lawn as they are. They do good work. If I have any problems, they address them really well.

They're very reliable.  They call on the phone before they do any treatments that cost more than the program you sign up for.  They always give you an update on services that you might need.  They look at the lawn and all that.  We have a great lawn because of that.
