and that would have been unfortunate. I had two bids when my husband
reminded me that three bids are always a good idea. I found the
advertising card that had recently come in the mail and called Sharper
Impressions. Zach Atwell, owner of the company, came to the house, did a
thorough inspection, and came in with a bid 1500 to 2000 dollars less than the
first two bids! The bid was accurate and was exactly what we paid at the end of
the job.
Zach is personable and really cares about the success of his
company. Everyone who works for him is polite and accomodating, and they
work very hard. When the crew arrived, I went over the contract with
them, and they set to work immediately. At the end of job, Jake, quality
control inspector, found a couple of spots. They were fixed quickly. A
month later I found a few more areas, and they were quickly dealt with. This
company has a five-year warranty for the paint job. My experience so far
is that they will cheerfully honor it. We are very pleased that we chose
Zach and his company.

They were painters. My husband took care of that. I am pretty sure they said they were on Angie's List. They were terrible. The contractor that we spoke with didn't tell us that he subcontracted out this painting. Gregory and Zack were the owners. What they do is take the bids and then subcontract it out and take a portion of what the painters do. You never know what you are going to get. We talked to people up the street and they got a great paint job. What we did no realize was that they had gotten a different contractor. We had them back, probably, four times and there are still places that are not painted. They told us they had put two coats of paint on, which they did not. We paid them for 20 gallons of paint and they only applied 10. My husband even went to the place where the paint was purchased and asked them how many gallons of paint they purchased so that is how we knew that they charged us for 20 and only painted with 10. We had them back out and told them we were not going to pay them until they gave us a second coat of paint. They sprayed the coat and then came out and touched up with brushes. My husband told them that is not how you do it, but they never did put down a second coat all around the house. They were just not good. They are dishonest because they should let their customers know that they are not going to do the painting and that they subcontract out all of their work. I we had known that we would not have done that. How do you know who you are going to get or what they are going to do? It was a mess. They got paint on our plants. They did not remove the gutters and paint behind them. We told them they had to do that so when we got new ones they dented and gouged one of the downspouts. They just did not do a good job. The price was reasonable from other bids we have gotten. They were all fairly competitive. We never knew when they were going to show up. They would just go away and then you would not see them for two or three days and then they would come back. You did not know when they would come and go.
