Our meeting was arranged at my convenience.  Mr. Mease was focussed and ready for the appraisal that was to be performed.  He informed me of the type of document I would receive at the end of the appraisal and how he backs each appraisal.  Mr. Mease educated me on the history of my stones and we discussed how value could be added to the setting.  He was thorough in his inspection of each stone - using may different tools and scopes to measure everything from size, weight, color, clarity, prism, light reflection/refraction.  Explaining each and every move. 
During the appraisal of my ring, we discussed may differenty types of colored stones and he was willing to pull from his vault several examples for my inspection - teaching me the difference in value. 
Once the appraisal was completed, he took me on a tour of his shop answering all my questions with patients.  He spoke to me as a peer but never used terms I was unable to understand.
A few days later I received the written appraisal and presented it to my insurance carrier.  They were quite impressed and had no additional questions.
