Excellent! They were extremely busy, so there was a wait, but they were here exactly when they predicted they would be.

I can't say enough good things about this company.  When I woke up at 6:30am to calls from my tenant and pictures of a huge tree limb down at my rental house I thought this would be a big deal.  It narrowly missed his truck and was hanging ten feet down and probably 30 feet long across the driveway and the neighbors yard.  He couldn't leave to get to work and it took a powerline down with it too.  
When I called them shortly before 7am I expected an answering service.  I expected a hassle.  I expected to get someone out there in a few days.  But Donna helped me quickly and once KCPL came and removed the live wire around 7am, they were out at 8:15am as promised and cut down and removed the limb.  My tenant was happy and they billed me so I didn't have to miss work to be there to meet them.  They really saved my day and that of my tenant.  After bids and appointments with other companies that don't always show up when promised or take weeks and weeks to get back to you, I will definitely be recommending them in the future.  

Another great job by the Marrs guys.  I always use them.  Don Marrs gave me a bid some weeks ago and we scheduled the work for later.  They called to say today was the day and the crew was at my house at the appointed time.  They did an exceptional job of trimming, clean up and disposal of all the cut limbs.

The crew was already trimming trees in a neighbor's yard.  I'd talked to the owner of Marr's Tree Service a few years ago in an unrelated business matter.  I felt like they would do a good job, and they did.

We got several estimates for trimming these 2 large oak trees before selecting Marrs to perform the work.  The first and lowest estimate was from a company that was "in the neighborhood" and offered to give an estimate.  The estimate was $600 but only for branches 3" dia. or larger.  After reading the Angie's List reviews I did not feel I could trust this company.  Although their rating was good the reviews indicated there were problems over payment and completion.  Other companies seemed qualified but not punctual.  My spouse and I both work so we needed someone who would show up when they said they would.  Also, those other estimates seemed a bit on the high side.  I went back to Angie's List and saw Marr's Tree Service and that they were located in Shawnee.  I had taken yard waste to Planet Marrs recycling in KCK and had been impressed with their operation there, so I called and asked if they were connected.  The owner replied yes, and then did something that pretty much sold me on their integrity.  Right away she said, "I have to tell you we're scheduling 6 weeks out right now so if you need the work done right away you better call someone else."  We then scheduled an estimate for the next weekend which came in at $790.  We agreed on a time that would accommodate their schedule and mine, taking into account possible weather delays.  They called a few days ahead to let me know they could do the work on one of the days we discussed.  We scheduled the job.  Mr. Marrs showed up with his crew.  He stayed the whole time and supervised the work.  They were thorough, efficient and neat.  They even mulched and hauled off some yard waste I had bagged but not disposed of yet.  I paid per the estimate and was very pleased there were no surprise charges or add-ons.
I would definitely recommend this company for tree trimming, especially larger trees.  They do not do landscaping, just tree trimming.  I was very pleased to find a company local to my area that would do the job and charge a fair fee and with whom I felt comfortable trusting my trees.

Needed a tree trimmed because of a new electrical service that was put
in rental property. The tree was actually in the neighbors yard of a
rental property I manage. I got approval from the neighbor and they did a
nice neat job and you wouldn't know they had been there.

Called and Don came by, exactly when expected, to look at the problem and give an estimate.  We decided to have the work done that day.  Weather was iffy but they called the morning they were going to do the work and that evening when we came home it was all done.

They came to remove the tree and saved my shed.  It was amazing that they were able to do this because of the location and angle of the tree.

They were very accomodating and didn't tear up our yard or driveway at all.  They had to bring in a large piece of equipment and nothing was torn up.  The tree was so large you couldn't put your arms around it, and they cut me a 3 inch slice of the trunk so we can tell how old it is, and show the grandkids. 

While they were here the neighbors on each side of us came out and asked if they would cut down a tree for each of them, and they did so.  

We are planning to have them back to cut another tree this summer.

Don Marrs provided a timely quote for the work. He came out a week later and removed the tree in one day. His crew was professional and good to work with. Don is a very nice and reasonable guy. We appreciated the work he did and will use MARRS again in the future.
