The sales representative at J & J Asphalt suggested we use AB3 sand and gravel mix. He explained that it would compact down, harden, and stay in place better than river gravel. He was very helpful in determining how much we would need. The mix was delivered on time and dumped in the driveway exactly where we requested (we were not home at time of delivery). We spread the mix ourselves, compacting it thoroughly. This was in June and it has proved very satisfactory both in eliminating standing water and in staying put where we spread it.
