"We were contacted last fall by [member name removed] to blow out his system due to the fact that his current company lost his appointment and he was worried his system would freeze, we were glad to help. We got him scheduled and done right away! We sent out 2 men and one of them has been installing and repairing sprinklers for over 20 years. This spring [member name removed] elected to start up his own system. There is a proper way to turn on the system and that is why companies provide this service, however [member name removed] decided even though he is not an irrigation technician he would take matters into his own hands to save money. We received several phone calls and text messages on a Saturday while we were closed and [member name removed] was panicking saying his back-flow was leaking. I decided to try and help out over the phone. While trying to help him out over the phone at no charge, [member name removed] starts to point fingers and blaming us for ruining his system. He said, "Since the 9 years I have lived here I have never had a problem." I had [member name removed] send me a picture. I immediately noticed his back-flow was an above ground RPZ and was not on unions which means after the blow out is completed that company can remove it and have the customer store it inside out of the elements. [member name removed] kept going on about how the previous company would hook up to the back flow to blow it out. I explained to [member name removed] that the initial installer over 9 years ago did install a blowout connection before the back-flow which is the proper way to blow out his system. I also explained that extreme weather can do damage to back-flows that aren't underground or taken inside. We had one of the coldest winters this city has faced in a long time dropping down to -8 degrees for many days at a time. Back-flows do come with a warranty at the time of installation by the company that installed them, NOT 9 plus years later. Don't take my word for it as I will list supply houses that are non-bias and can explain these issues as well. John Deere Landscapes 913-441-8226 and Reams 913-599-5407. It was obvious in my opinion that we could not help [member name removed] at this point but he would not stop the phone calls and the harassing text messages. I am glad he finally called someone else and got his system fixed but we will not pay for the back-flow that was installed by someone else so many years ago and is long out of warranty. The company who originally lost his appointment last year installed his new back-flow this year. They will be the company to provide [member name removed] with a warranty on this new unit."
Austin is very pleasant to work with. Always returns calls and he an his staff deliver good services at a very fair price.
We've had several neighbors praise the quality of the work completed by Austin's crew who also made a special point of commenting on all the early and late hours the crews worked.
We are quite satisfied with the completed project and would recommend Austin's Lawn Care to all who want a professional, quality job done at a reasonable cost.
