 + -1 moreThe new sod looked great for two or three weeks, then brown patches started to appear and sections of the sod soon started to die. All this happened in spite of considerable watering (we wondered whether we over-watered). We asked the contractor for assistance. He suggested that either we were not watering enough or that the yard was too shady. He said that he would find out about seed for shady yards to help us out, but he never came back to us. After 5 or 6 weeks the back lawn looked no better or even worse than when we started. We were truly amazed at how quickly the grass died - even before the really hot weather - given all the watering we did. We have a nice lawn at the front of the house (also a shady area) so it's not as if we're just hopeless with lawns. Can't help be think the sod was poor quality or that the ground was not properly prepared. Very disappointed. A waste of $800, to be quite honest.
Description of Work: New sod was put down in our back yard to improve a lawn that was 'patchy'.
