A & S CONSTRUCTION

Description of Work: My Family and I had previously used A&S construction for roofing replacement and were very satisfied at that time with their work! I then contracted with them to do another roof replacement for me, got with them and placed an order for materials. I paid for those materials in advance, in lue of a deposit, with the understanding that while I was out of town they would co ordinate the delivery of the materials when they came in; with the additional understanding that they were to start on the roof work approximately 3- 4 weeks later. I got back in town and no materials were at the job site. I started calling them about a week later and after leaving several messages with no call backs started calling more frequently. Due to my earlier good experience with the company I did not initially get to concerned about not getting a call back until after almost 2 weeks of no call back. Finally after about 30 additional calls I finally decided that I needed to check with the wholesaler that the materials had been ordered from to find out if the materials had not come in or if they new any thing about A&S that might explain why I had gotten no contact back! They informed me that the materials had been in for about 3 weeks and that they had contacted A&S almost immediately after the materials came in and that it was their understanding that A&S was no longer going to do the installation. They indicated that they knew I was supposed to be out of town and as such had not yet tried to contact me. There indicated that they would continue (for a short time) to store said materials while I try to find a different contractor. Shortly after I talked with the wholesaler, A&S finally returned my calls and confirmed that they had decided not to do the work! I would not be as upset if they had taken the small amount of time to inform me when they decided that 2-3 weeks ago; or if they had not made that definite decision if they had at least returned any one of my 30+ calls over the last 2 weeks and let me know they were reconsidering. I feel Adam Soukup acted in a completely unprofessional manner and as such should not be considered by anyone as a contractor. In the past I had even referred him to several other individuals. Something that will not be done again!
