They arrived as planned and replaced guttering in under an hour and were gone. No mess, they hauled off old guttering and sent us the bill. Will definitely use them when we need our guttering replaced.

They did a good job. I think the roof looks great and were are happy with how it looks. There were a couple problems with it, but the fixed them right away. I would highly recommend them.

The workers worked from 7-7 several days during the excessive heat we had. Cleaned up afterwards. Mr. Beardon was very helpful and took care of any questions I had.

UPDATE 10-9-12:
We did hire another company to fix the problem at the beginning of the summer and it ultimately cost us more than was refunded to us. We had Johnson County Guttering of Olathe re-install and replace some of the work done by Westwood. My review for Johnson County Guttering was posted today although the work was completed late in the summer. and lt;a href=and quot;http://my.angieslist.com/Angieslist/MyAngie/MyAccount/ViewReports.aspx?%2fgz7qklD22yd9upcOcoxdlCMqZlSKfXsFbkOhSLiYks%3dand quot;and gt; Here is my review for that particular job. and lt;/aand gt;
We told Mr. Nanos that he was welcome to come inspect the changes and that offer still stands. It is unfortunate that instead of contacting us to see the new work, he has posted his comments below.
After our new roof was completed (Westwood Roofing also did the roof), they sent a guttering crew over to install new gutters on the house. After seeing them attaching the new gutters with straps, I asked if we could have hidden brackets instead and was told that would not be a problem. Then we received a frantic call from the Westwood Roofing Project Manager informing us that we would need to upgrade to a larger gutter size for the gutters to be effective or else he and quot;could not guaranteeand quot; them; this of course meant that the price would go up. We agreed that it would be better to have larger gutters and agreed to pay extra. The guttering crew came back two days later for the installation. When we came home, the gutters were attached, but were clearly installed poorly: they were very crooked and downspouts were in the wrong place. The rafter tails were visible and the gutters were all hanging much lower from the roof line than they should be. Our casement windows barely cleared the gutter bottoms and one window was hitting the gutter when we opened it. The brand new drip edge and flashing were mangled and in some cases were exposing the decking below. We contacted the Westwood PM; He and the guttering lead installer came out to inspect it and initially took a very defensive stance about the work. They fixed some of the obvious issues (downspout connectors being too long, etc), but the larger problems of the installation (namely the low-hang) they blamed on our house being and quot;unusual and crooked, lack of fascia boardsand quot; etc. We would like to point out that all of the houses on our street are built the same way and at least two of our neighbors have brand new 6and quot; gutters hung with hidden brackets and do not have the same issues of the gutters being too low.
They had to come back at least 4 times to and quot;fixand quot; various issues that we had found with the gutters. We have been the ones to find that brackets were not attached to anything and in some cases not even used to attached the gutters to the house. When we addressed these issues to the PM, he raised his voice with me and suggested that we were somehow responsible for their bad work (and quot; That's what you wanted!and quot; etc.)
We then contacted the owner who came over to discuss the problem with us and he told us that both the PM and lead gutter installer admitted to him that the job had been handled very poorly; that the crew who initially installed the gutters did a terrible job and were subsequently fired, but ultimately the overall installation was the best that they could possibly do given the circumstances and that he and quot;was at a lossand quot;. This obviously doesn't solve anything for us if Westwood Roofing is either unable or unwilling to do anything to fix the inadequate way in which the gutters are hung, which leads us to this conclusion: today we actually had a moderately heavy rainstorm and our wood soffits are all wet, all around the house, because the gutters are hung too low. If nothing is done about this then we will almost certainly have wood rot problems again, and probably worse than what we just paid Westwood Roofing to fix.

"My ultimate goal is to provide the best service possible and it is frustrating to receive a disingenuous review such as this. Although I do admit that some of this review is unfortunately accurate, portions of it are absolutely “not true” and much of the information regarding our efforts to resolve the situation were withheld. We placed a bid to replace the existing strapped gutters with new strapped gutters because of the home’s design and lack of fascia board. The client informed us that they did not want strapped gutters (after the job had started). Our concern was that the house “is not” identical to the neighbors. It has overlapping soffits, which force the perpendicular gutters to drop to a much lower profile and might have the potential for water to run over the top of the gutter. To resolve this concern we suggested upgrading to 6” gutters. After the projects completion we followed up to make all the “physically possible” adjustments of concern & replace the metal drip edge that was damaged during the gutter installation. Because the client had unresolved problems (unrealistic expectations in our opinion) and was therefore not satisfied with the completed project we offered and provided a refund at a significant loss to our company. The client verbally indicated their appreciation and stated that they were going to use the refund to hire another company to make the adjustments we could not perform (either because they would inhibit the proper performance of the gutters and/or were not physically possible due to the homes architecture). To date (months later) these proposed changes have not been made and sadly I must draw the conclusion that the client may have used our good reputation and integrity to simply get something for free. Had the client transparently provided this review with all pertinent information surrounding this regrettable situation I would definitely not have drawn this conclusion and simply offered an apology for not meeting their expectations. Instead I am forced provide this pointed but honest defense of our good name. It is very sad that someone (in spite of getting the upper hand) would use this great resource and forum in an attempt to damage the image of an honest and reputable local company. Regardless, we will still honor our warranty and continue to believe in the best intentions of our customers."

They replaced our wood shingles with composition (asphalt) shingles. They did an excellent job, beyond my expections. We had a couple of reasons to call them back (doubtfully their fault) and they responded not by being aggravated but apologetic and, by all indications, eager to get it right. After one phone call, they returned the next day. I would use them again without hesitation. I was impressed.

Roofers were prompt, cleaned up and did the job in two days. Connor stopped by for a walk-through when I was out and it was raining so I didn't get a chance to ask questions or ask about additional services. Communication with roofers was a bit stilted due to language barriers but they were excellent roofers.

Westwood Roofing promptly provided a detailed estimate, including the designation of specific materials. Joel and Connor took time to discuss my specific concerns with problem areas. They decribed how they planned to address the problem areas and shared suggestions. Their professional approach stayed focused on the technical aspects of the roof. They did not waste my time with sales jargon or disparaging their competition or higher quality (more expensive) materials. Also, they provided the names and addresses of several neighbors which had roofs installed by them. I contact a reference who spoke highly of their professionalism and workmanship and indicated that several other neighborhood houses were roofed by Westwood with satisfied neighbors. Westwood delivered the specified materials and started the job on the indicated date. The work crew was managed onsite, professional, hard working, very careful not to damage landscaping or deck and maintained a clean job site. The job was completed ahead of schedule for the agreed upon price. The yard and deck was clean and a garden was undisturbed. Westwood (Connor) kept me informed as to progress throughout the project. And the roof looks great - straight, clean lines. As one who previously had disappointing experiences with roofing, I greatly appreciate the professionalism, communication, responsiveness, crew and job management, quality materials. Although Westwood used higher grade materials than were specified by other contractors (or omitted from the bid), their price was fair and lower than most of the other bids. I highly recommend Westwood Roofing.

Great job.!! Completed job in two days. Did very good clean up. Did not damage existing gutters. I received 3 estimates and this job. Westwood's was right in the middle, but the owner did a better job of follow thru on the estimate process than the other companies.

Had materials delivered for the job a few days prior. Started job on time, and finished quickly with no problems. Did reasonably good job of clean up. Modest damage to a fixture... replaced with no questions immediately. Good follow up and responsive. Would definitely use again and recommend to others. My daughter used them too at the same time... and they did an excellent job re-doing a skylight.

I called Joel to do a roof inspection because I had found a shingle by the side of the house. He had a guy over within a couple of days who did the inspection and then was going to do the work right then and there. However, my wife wanted to consult me first so she asked him to submit a work order, and we would arrange for them to come back. They were back within two days and did an amazing job.

This needed to be done soon, and I had to be out of the country on business. I came home to a nicely finished job. At the first major rain after I returned home, I discovered a leak in a corner of the guttering, next to a valley; this was a different problem than we had discussed in our negotiations. It had caused me problems prior to calling Westwood, but I had forgotten to ask them about it. A few days later, I placed a phone call to Westwood, asking if they could repair it, expecting to pay them more; we had originally spoken only about finding a solution for gutters which overflowed at the valleys. This time, I simply left a message on Joel Nanos' voicemail, then had to leave the house for 3 hours. When I arrived home, he had not only returned my phone call (both at home and on my cell, which was not turned on), but had sent someone out to repair it. The work was completed by the time I arrived home! In speaking with him, I discovered that not only was there no additional charge, as he considered this to be part of their job, but also that they had found it necessary to use an extra bundle of shake shingles above their original estimate, for which they also did not charge. How much more pleased could I be!

Westwood is an outstanding contractor with extremely competent and conscientious workers. Job was started and completed on schedule, despite minor problem getting the shingles we wanted from the supplier. This was in no way Westwood s fault, and the type of shingles we wanted were not a common in-stock item and required a special order. The bid price and the final bill matched exactly. The crew cleaned the area each night before leaving and completely scanned the entire area with heavy magnets to remove any nails they missed. I highly recommend this company, and I am not an easy customer to please.

Our roof-line is somewhat unique because (a) it is very steep and (b)there are many different sections that all contain peaks. Following a severe storm with high winds and excessive amounts of rain (5+ inches of water less than 4 hours) our roof began leaking...in several places. Having never been through the process of replacing a roof, and facing a major investment, we actually obtained six different bids. We were immediately impressed with the owner, Joel Nanos, who showed courtesy, professionalism and was the ONLY company who took measurements from the ground. I was told that, if the roof was already leaking, the last thing we needed was someone walking around on it. (That was the first of several pieces of logical information that Joel provided.) Service began exactly on the date we agreed upon. The crew, like the owner, was professional and worked extremely hard. The job was completed within the time estimated on our bid, and the clean up was as complete as humanly possible.

Joel agreed to send out an inspector to analyze the condition of our new roof which had leaked in two separate incidents into two separate rooms. The original roofer had not responded adequately to our pleas for help. The second leaking incident was due to this non-responsive situation. My husband and I were scared to death in anticipation of the next rainstorm. The upshot of Westwood's inspection showed that several additional projects needed to be completed, either by the roofer initially hired or by Westwood. When I mentioned to the original roofing company that an Angie's List roofer had come by for an inspection and made suggestions,we then started getting a response.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WESTWOOD ROOFING. OUR ROOF WAS PUT THROUGH A TRIAL BY FIRE DURING THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS OF HEAVY RAINS AND I CAN SAY WE ARE VERY PLEASED TO SAY WE HAVE NO LEAKS! ASIDE FROM THAT JOEL AND HIS CREW WERE PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND LEFT MY YARD SPOTLESS.
