About us

Catalyst Construction was formed to provide construction services to clients seeking quality craftsmanship and innovative approaches to solving design and building issues. With experience in remodeling and new home building, Catalyst is able to work with homeowners, architects, and designers to achieve the goals of any client. Catalyst is made up of Joe Cook and Travis Brungardt who bring a combined 30+ years construction experience to the table. We offer complete construction services including all remodeling and new home construction general contracting. We can be involved only peripherally as consultants or handle your project from start to finish doing every task in between. We generally try to keep all of our labor in house so as to maintain our quality first hand. We can subcontract with some of Kansas City's finer tradesmen when necessary to meet a clients schedule or budget. Additional email- [email protected]

We couldn't have been more pleased, happy and excited with the work and level of service that was provided. Travis and Joe went above and beyond on this job. They took an original bathroom, which was built in the 1920's and remodeled it into a beautiful space that still fits within the design of the house. The bathroom was taken down to the studs, floor removed and with all plumbing reworked to accommodate all new fixtures. As long as we own a home, Catalyst will be our only choice to do any level of remodeling.

We couldn't have had a better exprience with Travis, and perhaps the most professional contractor I have ever dealt with on a personal basis. We recently bought a home that had an addition which enclosed a load bearing load. We wanted it removed and had a structural engineer come out to draw plans. Once we delivered the plans to Travis, he caught a small glitch in the design and called me right away to explain the situation and offer a solution. He did all this and kept within the cost and time of the original estimate. The work is flawless and is exactly how we envisioned it. On top of all this, we let him know that we had just refinished our hardwood floors and they left not even the smallest scratch when the job was done. They will be our go to source for anything we do for our home in the future.

The project went as smoothly as it possibly could have given the age of the house. We were lucky enough to have only some small glitches were were dealt with quickly and efficiently by Travis and Joe. Overall everything went great and we are very pleased.

We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of our project. Travis and his team are great. They were efficient, courteous and left our garage cleaner than it was when they arrived! The homeowner acted as the general contractor and obtained site approval, permits and inspections. The work of Catalyst Construction was completed on time and on budget (with approved minor changes). All phases of the work were judged very good to excellent. Catalyst personnel were prompt, courteous, professional, helpful, experienced and well-informed. I can recommend them, without reservation, for this type of project.
