I contacted Benjamin Lawn & Landscape on Friday morning by phone to see if they could come to my property and remove dead leafs and branches from my backyard. Their answering service took my information and Ben returned my call promptly. Service was scheduled for Monday. The crew arrived at my property in the early afternoon and they quickly cleaned the property. I'm very happy to have the lawn service completed and will look to return to Benjamin Lawn & Landscape for additional future projects.

The work they actually did for us turned out fine, and I have no complaints. This included gutter cleaning, the removal and replacement of a dead tree, and cleaning up our landscaping beds. However, I also wanted them to provide a new design for the beds and then plant whatever was decided on, but for some reason was unable to get that work done. The first conversation took place in early March, and someone came to our house to discuss. I was promised a design proposal after that, but never received one. A second person came to the house in early May, and once again promised a design proposal. It's now early June and not only do I still not have a design proposal, I did not receive a response to my last email. At this point, I will be seeking a new company to handle our various lawn and landscaping projects.

They were highly professional in their work. The office answered all my questions and were always responsive. They fit me into their schedule as promised, even with weather delays. Finally, they came out on Saturday to finish the gutter cleaning. I am very satisfied with their services, and will be using them for lawn mowing and snow removal.

Benjamin Lawn does excellent work but I experienced a significant price increase on estimate
for my fifth leaf removal service. I am not sure if that came from Benjamin himself or a employee
who was tired of all the leaves in my yard. Recommended service provider just be upfront with what
you want when requesting a bid.

"Throughout the summer, while we were performing his regular mowing service, it was typical for the mowing crew to haul off 2 large armfuls of sticks and twigs every mow (for which he was not charged). This was due to his "under-cared-for," older oak trees constantly dropping sticks year round. When mowing season ended and leaf removal season began (November 1), we were very upfront with our customers that there is no set pricing for this service and that it is billed at an hourly rate due to the unpredictability of conditions from day to day (Pricing depends on how long it takes and the amount of leaves we have to haul away). Twig or acorn removal is an additional service we provide and we let our customers know that both of these services are substantially more labor intensive than the standard leaf removal detail. Sticks are picked up by hand and acorns are raked, then scooped into trash cans, and carried to our trucks to be disposed of off site. For the 2 January services that [member name removed] is questioning: He initially asked us to only provide a leaf removal service. Then he added some extra's to it: removal of brush and debris in the backyard corner; leaves in neighbor's front yard; and finally twig detail (he had a new dog that was chewing them up). We had over 6 10'x12' tarps of twigs alone for that service. He said the yard looks great and could we please come back to remove the acorns from his yard and beds (they were making his new dog sick). We came out one week later and removed as many of the acorns as we possibly could. They were 3" think in some areas of the beds. We had 4 tarp-fulls of acorns for that one service, many of which came from the beds which are even more time consuming to remove than the grassy areas. When [member name removed]complained about the amount of his invoice for January (monthly invoicing is our customary practice and was used to the entire time he did business with us) I told him I would look into it. He was charged for exactly the amount of time that our men were out on his property doing work, however, for the 1st service he complained about, I thought we may have done more "detailed" work than he had expected, so I credited him $100 on that service bringing that price into alignment with the other "leaf-only removal" services he had the previous month. For the second service that he complained of the price, I issued a $50 credit to assuage any hard feelings with the intent we wanted to keep him as a customer. He said that he thought that was fair. He then asked if he could pay his bill in 2 installments. We gladly agreed to do this as we wanted to work with him and keep a satisfied customer. As far as his complaint regarding an estimate, again the yard had so many sticks that at least $100 of it is for hauling and disposal of the sticks alone. I believe we did great work for him and responded to any questions or concerns he had in a very timely matter. I believe we went above and beyond with this customer as we would with any of our customers."

We have also used them for landscape design. They did a simple landscape design for our border and our back yard- we had no flowers and shrubs that were in good conditions. So they came out and Heather did a simple design - a perennial for me, to help me start with perennial gardening. She did a good job. They are doing a great - our lawn was horrible and they have done a great job getting it started back on the right track. They are terrific- they are very personable, do a good job and their price is very fair compared to others.

Afterwards, I discovered I had no water pressure in my outside spigot. Therefore, I could not water my lawn. They stated once I got things fixed with my water pressure, they will re-seed for free. They are just a very moral, ethical company. They always try their best and do their best. If anything goes wrong, which is very seldom, they always make up for it. Benjamin is a nice guy, and his wife Laura handles the business end of things. They are just wonderful. This is a very ethical, trustworthy company.Their rates are very reasonable and they are well worth the money.

I use them mostly for lawn mowing for my lot size, they charge 37.50. A good rate, and after some initial hiccups with the scheduling they have been very punctual with care. They also offer a variety of other services. One of which is leave raking. The price for that was 80 dollars. They did a decent job with that, but did miss some areas around the property. I plan to continue using them once spring returns.

The lawn crew does a good job. No complaints. Also, I have found Benjamin and the other office staff to be timely in returning emails. I have used this company for three years now and I have no complaints.
