Quick response/bid time. Got to work right away. Finished in four days. This was two guys working short days. The owner, Bob, only showed up to give the estimate and collect the check. The quality was generally fair to poor(the job was completed, most holes patched, 6 interior holes left unsanded, 4 exterior holes not filled in adequately, inadequate prime on exterior holes, no prime on interior holes as contracted). However, the BIG problem was the mess. The house was empty, the woodwork was just redone(100 yr old house, lots of woodwork). I was told everything would be done professionally-tarps, taped off, and cleaned. Nothing was covered and the workers did not have a broom or vacuum. Their only attempt to clean, horrible mistake, was to take an old, string mop-not mine, it was found outside-and 'mop' up the mess. Of course, this only made the massive amount of dust into a paste that is stuck in every corner and crevice of my beautiful woodwork. I have tried everything, and numerous hours and it is just about impossible to get out of all the cracks. The floors were redone before the insulation job, and now they are hazy and dull with white paste in all the cracks. When I received a call that the job was done, I showed up on the job site. The owner, Bob, said they didn't have time to clean and he would take off $100 from the $4000 job. My mistake for accepting this and not inspecting before paying; I assumed I could just vacuum up the 'dry' mess. When I realized a mop had been used and the mess was a nightmare, I called Bob. He apologized, agreed it was ridiculous to use a mop, said he would be over the following Tues to clean. He did not show up or call since.
